Greetings, and other forms of positive salutations! Thank you to @kommienezuspadt for giving me details, and the encouragement to start my Steemit post!

My name is Daniel Tran, currently with the pen name D.P. Tran. and I am 24 year old aspiring writer of fiction, philosopher, and knowledge sponge living in Minneapolis, Minnesota who copes with depression (thank you, Prozac). Currently, I am working as a server at a local seafood restaurant, abandoning my goal of being a scientist. Going to school for physiology, and biochemistry taught me concepts that I found interesting, but the culture alone was difficult to handle with my goofy behavior, and many views on existence; life one could say. Growing up as a devout Buddhist taught me concepts of peace, yet I was confused due to the subtleties, and the society that is overly embellished in competition, whether innate, or taught. I have also earned a gold medal at the Fukuda International Kata Tournament in 2010 for judo, specifically in Ju-No-Kata. I specifically love judo, for its simple definition: The Gentle Way. Music such as post rock, surrealist art, and anime is a great way to get in touch! The occasional drinker/green smoker, eep!

As of right now, I have 1 novel written, Tragic Thoughts with my synopsis below. Tragic Thoughts is postmodern satire in the form of a psychological thriller mocking the concept of societal objective peace. This piece is separated into three sections entailing the adventures of a crazed killer, a hitman, and an angel of death. Through first person narratives of the crazed killer, and third person description from the perspective of an angel of death, surrealist aspects shown. The first section follows the story of Jake Arc, the inheritor of a major energy outsourcing company. After scandal occurs within the company, Jake’s aunt Klara is put into a coma. A group of hitmen are hired to assassinate Jake while he is away at college. Interactions between the hitman Ethan, and Jake are told from the perspective of the angel of death, Stulte. Stories intertwine when Stulte is visited by an omnipotent being, granting Stulte freedom from being one of the angels of death. For freedom to be granted, Stulte must murder Jake, and Ethan. The second section is an homage to Jonathon Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, following a story of a being with a lost identity. This being takes upon the name Jake, and meets a guide that transports him to various universes, in hopes of reaching home. Universes are portrayed as satires regarding various concepts of peace, and human follies through personified beings. The third section continues the story of Jake, waking in a mental asylum. The question is which Jake, and how does he escape?
Currently I am outlining for my second novel Dark Side of Enlightenment which is going to be a comical satire, and fictional memoir on the Buddha’s life. Instead of Siddhartha Gautama being the main character, my character’s name will be Siffalsa Gautama to deviate from any related connotations, and to hint at the piece being fiction. This fictional memoir will look at the coming of age Siffalsa must endure as a prince, his journey on becoming an ascetic, and his journey as the Buddha up until his death. However, instead of highlighting the concepts of compassion that the Buddha teaches, I will be highlighting the “evils” of humanity that Sifflasa will encounter in a humorous way.

To also keep myself busy, I am in alpha phase of developing my board game Tea Time F(4)R Warlords. It is reminiscent to Fire Emblem, and Final Fantasy Tactics. If you would like more information, ask away! The rulebook is posted in my private facebook group.

What I want to bring to the Steemit community is my creative powerhouse, as well as my inquisitive nature that comes with that creativity. I shall leave with this question, and I hope to hear as many responses as possible.

What is the difference between ‘any moment in time,’ ‘coincidence,’ and ‘fate?’ and why?

For example, would you consider yourself reading this statement: ‘any moment in time,’ ‘coincidence,’ and ‘fate?’ and why?
