A Simple Day with Cucumber – School Time and Learning Through Play and Nature

Hello, dear @motherhood Community!💛
Today, I want to share something simple but meaningful from our real life – a normal day with my daughter, Morning Belle. As a mother, I always believe that even the small and simple moments can become special memories when we look at them with love and appreciation.

It was Friday yesterday; Morning Belle woke up early with full of energy and excitement. She was happy and excited because she was going to harvest her cucumber🥒 her favorite snacks to bring to school. This cucumber came from our small backyard garden, she was the one who helped water and take care of the plant every day. Seeing her harvest, the cucumber made me feel proud, not because it was a big thing, but because it’s showed her care, effort and simple joy in this simple thing.

After preparing, we went to her school. When we arrived, I noticed that only a few of her classmates were present that day. But even through they were not many, Morning Belle was still excited and active. She sing, dance, played and joined all the activities with happy smile.

One of their activities was to color a drawing of cake. She enjoyed it, carefully choosing colors and being creative with her design.

As a mother, I always allow her to explore activities like these. I believe that children learn best when they enjoy what they are doing. I don’t force her; instead support her in discovering what she loves. Whether its gardening, playing with friends or coloring in class, these are the moments that build her confidence, skills and happiness.

Morning Belle is a very independent child, even at her young age. She enjoys playing with other kids, and I can see how much she learns from them too. Social interaction is very important in her growth. She learns to share, communicate and understand the feelings of others. And most of all, she becomes happy and as a mom that is the happiest and most important thing for me.

This experience reminds me how important it is to let our children grow in their own ways, with our gentle guidance. Sometimes, we think that teaching only happens in books or lessons, and in the four corner of the classroom but the truth is children learn much through play, nature and the simple things we do every day.

Sometimes, when my anxiety gets heavy, spending time with my daughter helps me feel better. She is my source of strength and peace. I wont lie, it was hard for me to give up the job I once dreamed of, especially because I wanted to be financially stable. But even if my income now is not that big, I still feel truly happy. These moments with my daughter- watching her grow, laugh and learn something are priceless. No amount of money can buy the time I get to spend with her. Of course, I understand that every situation is different and having a job is very important for many families. But in my case, this is what works for us now and I’m thankful for it.

In the end, what made this day more special was the peace in my heart, knowing that my child is growing with joy, kindness and freedom to be herself. I also edited this picture using Canva to share this lovely moment with all of you. It may not be perfect day for some, but for us, it was beautiful and full of love.

Wow its amazing that your kid like to eat cucumber. Not every child want to eat veggies. Thats a very good parenting, good job mommy.

Indeed, the joy of being a mom is incomparable, and like you, i like sharinf it here. Thanks for sharing this beautiful moment with your lovely Morning Belle. I can relate to that part when you gave up ypur job and stability to focus on mothering. I also gave up mine but I can say that my choice wasn't a waste, it's for my son and I can start all over again fueled and motivated by the thought of my son's future. Whatever our goals may be, whether deciding for our career plans, it's not just about ourselves anymore, it's always about the kid/s.
