Do you remember when you were younger and someone "pulled a quarter out of your ear"? As a child, you might have been fascinated to try to discover this wealth of coins hidden inside of your skull. Of course, as soon as the mystery was revealed...that it was just "grandpa playing a trick"... not only were you now aware that he had the coin in his hand the whole time, but you were also less likely to believe that he could "steal your nose".

It was a leap forward in generalizing logic and understanding new concepts that painted your world with new colors.

In today's episode I share a deepening understanding of the world according to Micah through several key examples I remembered well.

Though they are simple little peeks into his world, as always, I hope that you're beginning to appreciate how all these little keys add up to unlock a treasure hidden in your child's heart and mind.

The *literal* world of autism... (no grey))... yeah... that is when you realise that English is very complex to learn. My Jack doesn't get idioms at all... he answers literally and when I try to explain he is always like... "That makes no sense! Wait, what????" Oh wow! Yes = No in *mind*... Jack and Oliver both struggle with this... if a question is phrased in the negative or similar, they don't always appreciate that answering yes/no is not always sufficient because their understanding is not always correct and so it can be difficult to know what they are actually answering in the end. Love the conceptual view of the ocean floating above the land... great observation from Micah at that age and to realise that it made no sense and to voice it! 🙌 !PIZZA
