A year ago I decided to obtain the <i>Recreational Boat Skipper</i> title (PER in Spain), which allows you to navigate 12 miles from the coast and with boats up to 15 meters in length.

Apart from doing quite a few hours of theory for a couple of months and learning to draw routes on nautical charts to be eligible to pass the exam, you also had to navigate a minimum of 16 hours.

But how could it be otherwise, not everything was going to be sailing: you also had to leave time to share a good paella among the ship's crew and take a refreshing dip in the sea.
