Next week will mark my 11th full month on Steemit so I wanted to just take a moment and reflect on my process and also offer tips to newer users. Steemit is by far my favorite social media platform although I do use several others. 

Everyone always seems so nice here.. probably partially because we are being compensated for our created content, but also most Steemians seem to be free thinkers and creative types that I get along with very well. 

Here is what I’ve done consistently since the end of May 2017:

- Post at least once per day

There have been some days where it’s just a picture or a meme. But I believe being consistent is very important on Steemit

- Upvote at least 10-15 posts per day

I appreciate all of you who consistently curate my posts. So I think it’s important to return the favor

- Comment on at least 5-10 posts per day 

I have gained so many followers because of this.. and it’s so important for people to see that you care about what they are posting

- Upvote comments on my own posts 

I usually only do this if you upvote my post. But I try to give at least 40% to each genuine comment

- Be Social 

I have met so many cool people on here. I hope to attend SteemFest one of these days and meet some of you in person. 

- Have low expectations 

Whether your post makes $200 or $.20, it’s usually out of your control. So I just look at the positives: I am still making more here than the big fat zero I would’ve made on Facebook 

- Power up all the time 

I might cash out part of my account once Steem gets closer to $100. But until then I will continue to power up and grow this account the old fashioned way 

I hope you have enjoyed reading my process. If you’re new here, please don’t give up! Steemit is not a perfect place, but it is still way better than alternative social networks that are making billions of dollars off of its users. I still believe Steemit’s best days are ahead. Steem on!!
