Para el día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes como he ido enseñando matemáticas a mi hijo Matthias, como les he contado en otras oportunidades él tiene 7 años de edad y está cursando el primer grado de educación básica.

Al igual que a muchos de ustedes nos ha tocado la difícil tarea de enseñar a nuestros pequeños desde casa, tarea que para unos es más difícil que para otros, ya que no somos profesionales en la materia y mucho menos tenemos la pedagogía necesaria, aunque a esto también le agregaría la paciencia necesaria para hacerlo, porque siendo sincero muchas veces me es muy difícil mantener la calma. No estoy acostumbrado a enseñar a niños de su edad, considero que no estoy preparado para ello aunque me he ido instruyendo y creo que voy mejorando.

Todo esto lo hemos ido logrando gracias a la dedicación y guía de la maestra, ya que ella nos envía fotos de materiales pedagógicos o instrumentos para ayudarnos y hacer de su aprendizaje algo divertido.

A continuación les voy a ir mostrando algunos de los instrumentos realizados en casa por mi esposa y por mí:

1. Instrumento de suma, resta, mayor que, menor que o igual a: este consta de 5 hojas blancas cortadas a la mitad horizontalmente, para hacer 10 hojitas y graparlas en forma de libro; las cuales fueron cortadas en 6 partes iguales. En la primera columna colocamos los números del 0 al 9, en la segunda columna los símbolos +, - , >, <, =; la tercera columna igual a la primera, en la cuarta solo el símbolo de =; la quinta y sexta iguales a la primera. Allí se van realizando pequeños problemas e interrogantes a los niños y ellos irán} ubicando los números o símbolos según sea el caso.
>1. 2. Instrumento para enseñar los números ordinales: recordando que estos son primero, segundo, tercero… décimo y así sucesivamente. Para su realización solo necesitamos una carpeta reciclable, una tira de cartulina y un dibujo a preferencia del niño. Con la carpeta nos disponemos a realizar un edificio y separarlo en 10 pisos, cada piso enumerado del 1° al 10° y realizando una pequeña ventana donde se pueda ver el dibujo elegido; en la tira de cartulina pegamos el dibujo y allí decimos al niño que ubique a su dibujo (avión, carro, personaje, flor) en el piso que prefiramos. Ese instrumento particularmente a Matthias le ha parecido muy divertido y se aprendió los números súper fácil y rápido.

3. Instrumento de cartel de valores: es muy sencillo, solo en un pedazo de cartón realizas 6 ranuras, 2 para la unidad, 2 para la decena y 2 para la centena, colocas las respectivas siglas arriba. Por otra parte hacemos 3 tiras de cartulinas, en nuestro caso las hicimos de colores diferentes para mayor facilidad al momento de relacionar, en cada tira colocamos los números del 0 al 9. Ahora introducimos las tiras en las ranuras respectivas y ya está listo para usar. Puedes decir a tu hijo un número para que lo ubique, enseñándole que si es un solo número va en la unidad, si tiene dos números irían en unidad y decena y si son tres números irían en unidad, decena y centena. Con este instrumento te garantizo que el aprendizaje será más ameno para el niño.

4. Instrumento de cartel para números romanos: al igual que el instrumento anterior pero ahora solo con 4 ranuras y 2 tiras, en la primera los números ordinarios del 1 al 10 y en la segunda los números romanos del I al X; para utilizarla solo debe de ubicar el mismo número en cada una de las tiras y así el niño ira relacionando y grabando en su memoria estos nuevos números. Un consejo realiza una tira en forma ascendente y la otra en forma descendente para hacer un poco más complejo el instrumento ya que los niños poseen una agilidad mental increíble y tienen a ver que la tira este al mismo nivel.
>4. Poster instrument for Roman numerals: like the previous instrument but now only with 4 slots and 2 strips, in the first the ordinary numbers from 1 to 10 and in the second the Roman numerals from I to X; To use it, you only have to locate the same number on each of the strips and thus the child will relate and record these new numbers in his memory. Otro dato que tienes que tener presente, es tratar de incentivar al niño de forma subliminal; acá en casa tratamos de a cada instrumento colocarle algo que a Matthias le guste, siempre le pegamos etiquetas de súper héroes, Ben 10 o cualquier otro de su preferencia o simplemente realizar decoraciones que le llamen su atención y hagan querer utilizar estos instrumentos; así mismo tratamos de que participe en la elaboración de los diferentes materiales y cuando vea el resultado de lo que estábamos creando le parezca algo GENIAL como él siempre nos dice.

Espero les hayan gustado estas estrategias de enseñanza, ya que también son una forma divertida de pasar el rato, mantener la mente ocupada creando, compartir en familia y por ende fomentar el sano aprendizaje de los niños.
