Quiero compartir con ustedes mi rica receta de compota a base de mago y piña; es una receta muy fácil de preparar y especial para consentir a los pequeños de la casa, también es una excelente forma para introducir las frutas en la alimentación complementaria de los bebés.

Les llamara un poco la atención porque la receta dice con tropezones, esta es la forma en que los venezolanos llamamos a los trocitos de alimentos que encontramos en las comidas; particularmente me gusta comerla así porque es mucho mas divertida para el paladar de los comensales.

Ahora bien les daré la lista de ingredientes;
-	3 mangas grandes (maduras), en este caso pesaban alrededor de 1 kilo.
-	1 piña pequeña.
-	150 gramos de azúcar (dependiendo de la acides del mango que utilices, en mi caso estaban dulce las mangas).
-	3 cucharaditas de maicena.


>Now I will give you the list of ingredients;
>- 3 large (mature) sleeves, in this case they weighed about 1 kilo.
>- 1 small pineapple.
>- 150 grams of sugar (depending on the acidity of the mango you use, in my case the sleeves were sweet).
>- 3 teaspoons of cornstarch.

Para la preparación; pelamos las mangas y la piña, las cortamos en pequeños trozos; posteriormente las colocamos en un sartén, le colocamos unos 200 ml de agua para su cocción a fuego lento durante 20 minutos, para lograr que se desintegren un poco los trozos y los sabores se unan. Debemos estar al pendiente de ir revolviendo para evitar que se queme, si es necesario podemos agregar mas agua.

Pasados los 20 minutos, procedemos a colocar el azúcar, revolviendo bien e inmediatamente disolvemos la maicena en 100 ml de agua y la agregamos a nuestra preparación; revolvemos enérgicamente para evitar grumos, esto lo hacemos por unos 5 minutos o hasta observar que ya nuestra compota logre la consistencia deseada.

Ya esta lista nuestra compota, ahora solo quede verterla en un bowl de vidrio y dejar reposar para posteriormente refrigerar; este es un postre que se sirve frio. You can accompany it with some pancakes, cookies, bread, for the crust of a cake or simply eat alone.

En casa siempre hemos tratado de dar a nuestros hijos comidas preparados por nosotros mismos, es por ello que he buscado la forma mas agradable de dar los alimentos a los niños; mi esposa y yo tratamos de crear diversas combinaciones para mantener una alimentación balanceada; tratando de evitar productos con conservantes.

En estos momentos en Venezuela esta la temporada de mangos, y como dice el dicho “si del cielo te caen limones, aprende hacer limonada”; en mi caso si del cielo te caen mangos, aprende hacer compota jaja.
