**This is my 1000th post on Steemit!**

That would be a little more epic if Steemit did not count every comment (including shout outs to @originalworks) as a post. But a thousand is a thousand and it's still pretty awesome.

I have taken awhile to get here. I joined in October of 2016, which I guess would make me an early adopter. But I was silly and didn't do much research. It was the early days of 24 hour payouts, in much larger sums, and a much less spam filled newsfeed. I didn't think I had to do any research, Steemit would always remain what it was and I would get rich, right? Never mind the fact that I had no clue how to get my money out of the system.

I left my Steem as Steem and didn't power up, I grew a fat savings account, and carried a hug sum of SBD without considering the security risks. I had no clue how to manage the numbers. And I didn't think I had to back then.

Well, those glory days ended and steemit.com became a huge community, with every demographic, every color, every creed and nationality represented. You can find everything from recipes to religion to memes. There are bad guys and good guys, there are thieves and pickpockets and all manner of spammers. We have bid bots and Steem power delegation.

Steemit got HUGE!

And because of my inattentiveness I missed many boats.

But with this: my 1,000th post, I resolve to do a bit better with my account. I'm going to try new things and chase down leads. I'm going to try to be productive, entertaining, informative, AND above all else profitable.

I'm moving out west next week, so most of my next posts will concern that. But once I am settled in, watch out!
