 *Shadows, Acrylic on Paper, 2015* Very simple and subdued. This was a fun one to work on, especially the skirt. If I were to change anything I would probably make the shoulders and head a bit narrower. The perspective just feels a little off to me. What do you think? I loved capturing little moments of motherhood like this. I honestly wish I could have captured more. I have a ton of photographs that I could paint from, but it doesn't quite feel the same to paint past moments as it does to paint recent or current moments. All my children are getting older and bigger, and the moments, while still sweet, don't quite feel as magical as they did way back then. Plus the whole period of pregnancies and baby raising was a rough season. It is hard to look too much at those photographs. Maybe one day I will redeem those memories and capture some of that lost magic in paint. I'm posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
