I couldn’t let you go
A need fulfilled
Craved
Desired
I would claw through walls to satisfy
The itch that you scratched

Yet I am eaten
Slowly from the inside
Wasting away
Anorexic believing I am beautiful
While my life is sucked
Down a drain
Into you
Just for a fix
A quick delight
A few more hours of comfortable
Numbness
Before plunging back
Facedown
Into my own insecurities.

I don't know if any addictions are healthy. Even addictions to love. By nature they seem selfish at their core.

Absolutely.. the classic addiction avoidance thing. Numbness over feeling the pain of loss or confronting healing, which is always a struggle. 

Addiction is suffering, for sure.
