An early mover in Web3 gaming developed by NewGen Labs, The Forge Arena is a fast-paced FPS that has been active since 2017! The sci-fi first person shooter currently has two game modes, hybrid competitive and team deathmatch, both of which are aimed toward a fun, controlled and intense combat experience. The hybrid mode is a high paced 5v5 match with capture the point and search and destroy and the team deathmatch mode features a more laidback 8v8 large battle experience.
**The Reception**
Reception of the event seems to have been overwhelmingly positive; with CritterCraft Co-Founders: Gaz Thomas and Chaz Carter saying:
“AtomicHub Game Fest was a great event – we had a blast! Our stream games are more fun with more players, and we had over 100-150 players in each game for the full 10 hours, with players smooshing over 10,000 grubs. We can’t wait to do it again!”
Michael Rubinelli, Chief Gaming Offer at Tyranno Studios reported:
“We loved seeing the passion and enthusiasm expressed by the AtomicHub team for Blockchain Brawlers. AtomicHub Game Fest was a great event that was roundly applauded by our community!”
Oleh Mykhaylovych, CEO at Dark Country added:
“We were grateful to participate in the AtomicHub Game Fest and showcase our game alongside a list of successful developers. During the event, we warmly welcomed many new players, and saw a healthy boost of new followers to our growing community.”
Artur Minacov, Founder at The Forge Arena also noted:
“We were delighted to see both new faces and old having fun and getting involved in the competitive side of our game through the AtomicHub Game Fest. We would like to thank AtomicHub, BluMint but mostly our community for being welcoming and being there.”
AtomicHub themselves reported that the AH Game Fest saw more than 150,000 minutes of total stream watch time, over 250,000 impressions across all socials, four drops on the AH Launchpad, with thousands of dollars going to the games involved along with over $3,000 in crypto and NFT prizes distributed.
**Conclusion**
Coming just weeks after Telos announced their partnership with video game retail behemoth GameStop, the AtomicHub GameFest was a welcome occurrence for the Antelope ecosystem. WAXs positioning as one the most active blockchains for gaming-related NFTs, the announcement of the launch of Inter-Blockchain Communication between Antelope chains earlier this year, and Telos building bridges with the tenured gaming giant while also housing the Qudos gaming rewards system may mark the beginning of Antelope being the premiere ecosystem for Web3 GameFi. Only time will tell and we're all excited to see what the future holds.
