Inhale the Magic

<center>*I have a hydrangea. My hydrangea is so very special. It stands alone with this distinction, that of being special. Just this one. They are all beautiful, but, this one came with me when I moved from another house, a house with so many memories. So many very good times, so much laughter and so much life... and then, in the middle of the night, when nobody was looking, a life-altering event invaded my life. Changing it forever. A few years later, when I moved, I took my little hydrangea with me. I give it special attention, wanting it to stay healthy and grow old with me.*</center>

I adore hydrangeas !

The first thing they always remind me of is my Grandmother Cheek.  She always had flowers and in her back yard (although it wasn't the only place she had flowers)she had a large square bordered with railroad ties that had a variety of perennial bushes and bulbs.  She would plant a few annuals each year in the open spaces between them each spring too.  There of course was a large healthy hydrangeas there.  Through the years as it spread she would share and share, so no telling where all of it descendants are.  Some of them are at my Mom's house where they have grown prolifically and have been shared and shared some more !  I plan to bring one of them to this house this spring.  I have just the place !

The love that keeps on giving. That is the beauty of the hydrangea!! It is so fitting to be the family heirloom that you can pass and pass and pass... Le sigh. I have so many from so many different branches of the family. Great Grandmas, my mom. Aunt Evelyn, one of my brothers...They do realize that my yard is only so big, right? My brother tells me I should just buy another house. Ha!

I am so glad you are getting a piece. You have a nice backyard! WorK??  They are ramping up for normal again! Yikes! Have a great day, minus the work stuff! Mwah!

Nature truly is effortless in it's beauty. With all our brains, voices and opinions we still pale vastly by comparison. Still moments spent inhaling and appreciating mother natures magnificence teaches us to appreciate all the simpler moments in life - the little things... the stuff that really counts.

Exactly. I am not sure I can ever convey the exact moments and feelings without leaving out something. Suffice to say, I will go with what I can and hope it explains it well enough. It does pale in comparison to the beauty that it really is. 

I did have a good week, albeit, busier than I like to be.  But, I am off for the entire weekend. I am not sure what to do first. Sleep or sleep? Mwah!! Love you!

I wish we could come, but for now the US Embassy here has stopped immigration services, and my Cambodian family can only get visas to Haiti and Cuba. I also don't earn enough income for a family of 4 to be able to get the K-1 Spousal visa.

Bureaucracy has stifled us, and unable to return to Cambodia because the visa policy has changed, we only seek a country accept us a complete family anywhere on Earth. Things will work out in  due timing, but 2 years of being stranded has certainly had an impact on our physical and mental health. Anyhow, hugs from all of us in Suriname.

Wow! Such beautiful and special hydrangeas! These remind me of my good old days at a country house where a big bush of hydrangeas covered half the garden in the courtyard.  I thought they were magical flowers the first time I saw them! Big bush of purple flowers!

They are one of my favorite flowers! I think  I say that for all of them, but they bloom almost all season long and you can change their color with the PH in the soil. 

So many good reasons to love them! I will bet your country house was beautiful!!!

Ah! That my friend’s country house in a small village in England. It was a small mansion which was sold several years ago to some rich millionaire’s family.  We couldn’t grow hydrangeas here as the weather is too hot!
 
Love to have a big bush in my garden one day!

That's a very lovely plant and a lovely story to go with it. Some plants can survive for such a long time that they become part of our stories. I remember we had a cactus that was my great grandmothers that lived for 10 years and 2 moves after she passed away. I still have pressed yellow roses from her rose bushes saved in an old novel on the bookshelf.
