Mother Nature, Robins and Rain
<center>The usual warmth of the spring has been repeatedly disrupted by a series of glacial blasts, courtesy of Mother Nature. I have to try to remember that she knows best. One day of pleasant temperatures and all is forgiven. We have such a great working relationship.</center>

*<center>We gave that all up for a bit of the wet stuff. April shower brings May flowers. *Hello, Mother Nature!* We have been into May for a bit. It's time to pull the veil of beauty back so we can see it. Although I have to admit, I am still a huge fan of waterdrops. The technique of capturing a single drop of water on a plant can be challenging. I know that commercially, they sell well, so I am sure if you are one to put your photos up for sale, you are bound to have a little water play in there. </center>*

<center>Among the gardens, I planted dozens of lilies as they bloom early on, giving me a chance to enjoy another round of color when those fade away, shortly after it has completed their journey. It is so nice to see the brilliant color after the winter slumber.</center>

Just when you think they are done, they put forth more of the beautiful stuff. How can you not love a flower like that?<center>*

<center>So it begins in profusion: We grow wild, running in the sun. Cast your shadow and keep company with the shine of the day. These went in a three-tiered planter, made of wrought iron and very much loved for the way it looks, flowers cascading over the sides. Every year, before I can get to it, a bird comes and builds a nest.</center>

*<center>The culprit! She was a young robin and it surprised me that she built it up on my porch, even as far as going to the highest level and watching me through the window in my office. She spooked pretty easy, but, eventually, she had to incubate those eggs, so she tossed caution to the wind and let us pass by.</center>*

I thought you had to be over 50 to join the silver bloggers thing.  I mean I am on my way there, but not quite there yet.  That is a great shot of the robins nest.  My father in law had a duck build a next out by their pool this spring.  I guess something got into the eggs, so that is sad, but it was cool before that happened.

Haha! I thought so too at first, but, nope! Any age is accepted, you just have to be an old soul. You totally fit! I think it actually says 40 but, it is more of a mindset than an age thing. 

Nests on the ground always stand a bigger risk of that. I love watching nature, but, the downside of watching is witnessing that.

I am so wowed by the blue eggs though I actually scrolled up twice to make sure I read it correctly that they are REAL EGGS!  NATURE SIMPLY AMAZES US! Beautiful flowers there too! I love The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. It is the only literature piece I remember from school vividly. Hahaha. It is perfect for this post and the photos you have shared!

You DO have to watch for them, or they will nest in your plants on your porch.  It's not that it is not fun to be able to watch their progression, but it is a bit of a nuisance coming in and out sometimes and later..... poop !

Isn't that true? :) The robins aren't too bad as the piece of porch they are using is wrapped around to the side, so I never really have to go too close to them unless I am watering some plants. 

The barn swallows are the ones that really go nuts! I keep knocking them down as they build on the porch. First twig and I am out there. I used to just let them, but, they are pretty insistent that I cannot use the porch after the nest is built!  :) Then, they started building in the newspaper holder on the mailbox. The postman and I have fun with that one. 

No poop yet, but of course, it is a matter of time.  :)  *Apologies for the small upvote, the market is in another day and I am only at 60%*

Mother Nature rocks! One of the reasons I love the East Coast of the US is for the four seasons. The changes, even winter, are always beautiful. I look forward to each one as we do not linger in the winter as some States do, our spring is long and the summer is hot.  :) Great for those Atlantic swims/boating/kayaking. Autumn is so colorful and I love watching Mother Nature getting ready. I was out in one of the State Parks and came beak to beak with deer - it startled both of us!  :) I took a picture of him, his face is priceless. I posted it last year, I will have to find it. LOL

That is one of the reasons we are choosing it too, for the seasons. Although work is relocating us we could choose some states. But went with the New England area. Location will still be determined later.

I have it right outside my office window! They love that spot, I have a different variety every year. Doves and swallows are always fun to watch. 

Flowers have been going for a while, now we are on stage two after all the daffodils, tulips, bleeding hearts, violets, and the first blooms.

It does begin, all over again!

and I do love the blue of Robin eggs

As for water drop photography, they are so popular and I do love catching water drops on flowers and plants after rain, but I think most of the exceptional water drop photos are setup in a studio with lights  flashes etc, I know I have a spot I could setup and try but I so much prefer being out walking and capturing what is out there naturally and not fabricate images

I am the same as you in that way. I know that water drops are a popular setup in the studio and honestly some of the best, but, there is something about capturing it in nature. 

I am keeping tabs on the robin!  :) I will probably eek out one here and there.

In good time, I am sure. This weather is really putting a damper on my time. I did go to the shore and it is actually 15 degrees cooler over there than here, the overcast clouds helping out for sure. The wind!!! Oh, my. Gale force or enough to prevent me from burning the branches. Maybe the chipper? That sounds too much like work. 

The yard is green and the plants thriving. I should be happy for all the attention it doesn't get. I think we are getting rain and thunder this weekend too. Monday and Tuesday also. 

I'll have to get some rainy day fun lined up!
