i think these comments are quite a risk.
i have my one comment downvoted before and someone said maybe it looks like a comment from a bot. My rep was hurt and took me quite some time to come back.
Good luck to those who intentionally take the risky route.

@dumar022 ... New steemians like myself is guilty of trying all the methods above for sure 🤣 especially when you see other steemians writing so little yet received so much upvotes. There is a big question mark always as to ... How on earth do I get there ! But after having multiple posts and proper comments like what you have mentioned. It's a way better way to not only gain followers but to also earn respect. Great writeup .. upvoted , resteemed & follow. Cheers buddy.

Yes....courtesy and good manners will take the newcomer far.  Even the.....golden rule...Do unto others as you would have them do unto you....comes to mind.

haha i am just joking, the worst one i have witnessed is in the steemchat the private message with the following proposition

''let's vote,follow and resteem each other's posts''

The answer is always the same guys and everyone should say this i think. If like your post then i will upvote it and if i have the time to read it i will comment too! if i really liked it i will resteem it too. 
Thats how we gonna keep making this community better that all the others outside!

And if any of the new guys thinks that ''we got followers and upvotes, we don't have to talk'' i want to say that's it's actually pretty easy to earn upvote and followers, just go and interact with people in a common sense way not by what @dumar022 mentioned above!

Totally agree @dumar022 Ofcourse none of us can ignore that we are all here for the reward. But don't expect to get rewarded if you're obviously only here for your own gains. It is a community where you also need to give before receiving. Luckily time will show us all which people are true to heart and which are heart purely for the quick buck.

Posts like this are really helpful to newbs. I think we bring our social media habits with us from whatever platform we used most frequently before we started on Steemit. For me, a Twitter user, long comments were a challenge at first. Once you get the hang of it, interacting on posts becomes more natural.  

I always indicate that I upvoted and followed in the comments I make, just to show my support. Some people might think this is tacky, but whatever. I'm not doing it for the follow backs (though they are definitely appreciated)...I do it because I  follow people back, and the easiest way to know if someone is following you here is if they tell you.

They are just spamming comments hoping you will follow them. We see this on YouTube all the time. They don't want to wear down their power, or just don't care. They figure if they paste that comment on 100 posts, maybe they will get 10 followers. I hate to see that, and I don't follow or support those types.

Exactly.  It is very frustrating to me, a new user when people jump on your post and say nothing of any value, just fishing for followers.

These kind of posts have helped me get the feel for what is needed and expected of the Community.  
 I Learn everyday because of STeemian's like yourself.
