The recent weeks have already seen a large part of the starting grid for 2019 MotoGP already defined.

Several signings have also been concluded as well and while Lorenzo goes to Honda, Petrucci is at Ducati and there's already news of an Aprilia move for Iannone.
For Joan Mir, an announcement is expected soon as Suzuki is yet to confirm the move. This leaves just a few seats remaining for the rest.
Then there is a situation still yet to be defined which concerns no less than two teams and a possible new entry.
The connection to this all is the Yamaha M1 bikes which are currently being managed by Tech3.
And although many parties have shown interest in managing these bikes, an interview with speed week saw Lin Jarvis clarify the current position of Yamaha as regards management.
For this project, a potential rider for the project has been mentioned in the person of Jorge Lorenzo.
Commenting on Lorenzo, Jarvis noted that the rider remains one of the few world champions that is currently active in MotoGP.
He also noted that the rider has five titles so far to his name and would make a good rider for the team as he is quite fast. Jarvis added that there would not be any need to think twice once it came down to Lorenzo.
