# The Struggle 

I suppose it is appropriate for me to address the post that was made Yesterday.
I am responsible for releasing these guest posts, and I let it slide, I know it ain't pretty but neither is experiencing such a situation, desperation can make you do well desperate things, fone was hoping to get some more financial support but unfortunately that proved not to bear fruit, as as I suspected, that is truly a shame and maybe shows something about our "civilized society" but that's not something I am going to tackle in this post.

It was always deeper then money with bitcoin and hive for me, this tech is changing lives and helping bring about a better world, now hive in particular is far from perfect and we could and should do a lot better but despite all that hive continues to offer people opportunities to earn a little from being part of the blockchain in some capacity, and there are many regions around the world with few official earning opportunities.

I want DUO and hive to target these users, these folks are hungry and trying to eat and now I am working to being able to provide the basic needs for all humans, but that is an ambitious goal that is a very long term project.

The reason we need to get these users is because they are hungry, and we need users to put in work on this chain, this means engaging and making content but also helping with onboarding efforts that also include engagement and other things, this is a win, win for the chain and for these folks that struggling.

With this greater userbase and collaborated onboarding effort we can expect a lot more success in growing this chain.

Alright so we got a lot to cover here so lets dive in bit by bit

### New guest author slot

As you notice this is a guest post style post on a Wednesday , as we mentioned before we are going to drop one of the update post and replace it with a guest post, this is better, as to why, sorry but I am too tried to explain, and hope someone got the sense or the decency to explain that is not me lol. 

### RDUO/HP ratio 

We are going to be introducing a new ratio to help the team better manage DUO and we are sharing it with you all to be as transparent as possible as we always strive to be.

What is this ratio? it is basically the ratio between the released DUO(All the DUO that has been purchased /released from @duo-promo account in form of giveaways the founders DUO is excluded) 

I would say we are doing fairly well at the moment, however I am not, I am about to burn out so I will just call it a day.

The ratio is 
 0.9342 DUO per HP

@bitcoinman Dear friend, please look out for yourself. I really appeciate what you are doing, but place your health first. 

On the new ratio, very curious how it will look - but have nothing but faith in the team. So please go for it! 

On the broader subject - I like DUO exactly for what you guys are trying to achieve. It is just one big positive movement trying to do some good. Last months the conversation here and on inleo turned more around finances and the financial distress people are facing. Which is just sad - but also shows the impact a project like DUO can have - for succesfull a guest post can feed a family and provide freah water for a week. 
Our key challenge, to me, seems how can we draw eyes and sustainable upvotes on the posts so that a 50/50 reward for the guest author really means something.
- It might be interesting to talk to other communities (such as cent project to have a partnership with a cent:duo pool, or have duo in the tribe project , @centtoken tagging you here - hoping you are open to explore with @bitcoinman if you could find a mutually beneficial collab)

- it could also be interesting to use a portion of the hp / rewards to get some leo . => stake it => upvotes from duo.curator increase (if posted via inleo) => we can use the stake based curation thread to requests eyes & possible upvotes from leo.curator. Might also be worth a while to explore with Khal how we could draw eyes on the project within inleo.

Lastly - I feel this quote applies:

From personal experience - I have been drained over €8k from supporting friends in need over the last 2 years (with the last time -€70 the 18th this month). With these guys, giving the money to feed there families - I try to do good, but I am also aware nothing changes and I will be asked to pay for them again and again. 

What I like about this project is that it attempts to β€œteach people to fish”.

Good looking out and thanks for sharing, I was at least able to recognize and tap out in time. The ratio is just so we can better manage how we release DUO via promotion and other channels, if we see that the ratio is dropping we know we need to cut back.

We just have to keep pushing, and slowly but surely we will get higher votes and it will be more worth while for our authors

I didn't pay much attention to the post yesterday as I had my head filled with funeral, but it is indeed an evil circle with handing out money. I do hope it was loans that will be paid back to you!

I fully agree that we should try and help, but to be honest, giving money is more like a bandaid on a leg that has been cut off. It won’t really help. Meanwhile, the beneficiary stuff will help a bit better in the long run, I think. But that is not a here and now fix.

Maybe it would help a lot of people if they had access to their crypto directly.
I know places like COCA wallet (download: https://wwallet.app.link/referral?referral_code=eogV5mVfv5c) has some pretty good benefits, and even pay minimum 5% cashback when the card is used.
I tested it last month with a little funds, and it works πŸ’ͺ🏼
