##### Hello people! - ¡Hola gente!

After quite a while, I'm back here... to share my experiences, thoughts, and experiences with the #Silverbloggers community. It's been a while since my last post, or rather, since the last two posts, in which I talked about my life-changing decision to start university again this year after many years, many jobs, and other life events. So, in the two previous posts I'm leaving here, I talk about making that decision to start life over again, and also about the experience of retaking my first semester exams and how I felt about starting over.

Ha pasado bastante tiempo desde el último post, o más bien desde los últimos dos posts, en los que hablaba de mi decisión vital de comenzar de nuevo este año la universidad después de muchos años, después de muchos trabajos y otras cosas de la vida. Así en los dos previos posts que os dejo aquí hablo de tomar esa decisión de empezar de cero otra vez en la vida, y también de la experiencia de volver hacer mis primeros exámenes del primer semestre y cómo me sentía al empezar._

And time has passed, and I've finished the first academic year in an extraordinary way, surprising myself even, and with the best possible feelings. Is it possible to start over and feel like you've chosen the right path this time? Definitely yes.

_Y el tiempo ha pasado y he acabado el primer curso académico, de forma extraordinaria, sorprendiéndome a mí misma incluso, y con las mejores sensaciones posibles. ¿Es posible empezar de nuevo y sentir que esta vez has elegido el camino correcto? Definitivamente sí._

### Review of the new first year 🇬🇧 / Resumen del nuevo primer año 🇪🇸

It wasn't an easy decision, like any that involves a major life change. Quitting my job, cutting expenses, and focusing on commuting to and from university by bus. For the first few months, I continued working from home when I could until the end of the year. Then I started taking the first exams of the first semester, and everything was going well.

At first, you're plagued by doubts: was it the right decision? Would I still be able to study like before? Would the whole system have changed? Would I be able to adapt to it? And also, would I be comfortable in class, especially with my other young classmates?

The truth is, everything has been better than I expected. I still have a good memory, I still know how to study, and some subjects now seem more interesting to me, which is what I wanted. But I was surprised that, despite the new continuous assessment system, which requires you to complete many assignments throughout the course, also in groups (something that was quite a challenge), and some additional things, such as activities more related to technology. I even had to create a video! I chose to do it about an Italian city that's special to me, and thankfully, I got the best grade in the class.

Durante los primeros meses continué trabajando, desde casa, cuando podía, hasta fin de año, después empecé con los primeros exámenes del primer semestre, y todo iba bien._

> _Al principio te asaltan las dudas, si es la decisión adecuada, si aún tendré capacidad de estudio como antes, si ahora todo el sistema había cambiado ¿podría adaptarme a él?, y también si podría estar a gusto en clase especialmente con los demás compañeros tan jóvenes..._

> _La verdad es que todo ha sido mejor de lo que esperaba. Sigo teniendo buena memoria, sigo sabiendo estudiar, además ahora algunas materias me parecen más interesantes, que era lo que quería. Pero me ha sorprendido que, pese al nuevo sistema de evaluación continua en el que hay que ir haciendo a lo largo del curso muchos trabajitos para entregar, también en grupo, (algo que era todo un reto) y algunas cosas más, como actividades más relacionadas con la tecnología. ¡Incluso he tenido que crear un vídeo! Elegí hacerlo de una ciudad italiana especial para mí, y felizmente, me han dado la mejor nota de la clase._

But everything went well. I chose good classmates. I must say that sometimes the image of young people isn't accurate, and although we see things the same way, at times we're similar, and at other times they can surprise us in a positive way.

At times, I didn't feel that much of a difference, not in age, or anything. And at other times, I did, but I told them things, experiences, and they listened to me. I've given them advice and compared them to what university was like before, and they're generally good kids. It's just that, like us twenty years ago, they lack that life experience, which they'll gradually acquire. Maybe in the future they'll remember that "older girl" who had already studied other degrees and who told them a lot of things.

Because I talk a lot. It's not like it used to be. As young people, we're more afraid of making mistakes or simply expressing something out loud in front of more people, but now with more experience, everything is easier. And it was hard for me to keep quiet and not say something in a class. I think most teachers appreciated this, so there wasn't a complete silence when they made a comment or raised a question.

So I can say this year has been a success. The worst part has been the daily commute. Going back and forth by bus is not so comfortable, especially if it doesn't run perfectly, sometimes you have to wait longer, and sometimes it's too crowded for traveling by road like that. But at least every day on the commute I saw the ocean...

And I can't complain; on the contrary, I didn't expect to get such good grades. In some subjects I have the highest grade. They're better than I could have dreamed of, and I'm very happy, in every way.

Finally, as a conclusion to this summary, I can only tell you that if you have a dream, even if it seems complicated or crazy, go for it, because it can bring you a lot of satisfaction, you can learn a lot in different ways, you can feel good about yourself, be happy, and feel that this time, yes, this time it seems like the right path, where I should be, and even if it's whenever, no matter when, it's important to be there. And in my case, life has given me this opportunity, which not everyone can have (I'm grateful), to be where I should be. And to recover that sense of life that gives us everything.

Esto la mayoría de profesores creo que lo agradecía, para que no quedara un vacío silencioso absoluto cuando hacían algún comentario o lanzaban alguna cuestión al aire._

> _Así que puedo decir que este año ha sido un éxito, casi la peor parte ha sido el viaje diario, ir y venir en autobús es algo no tan cómodo especialmente si no funciona del todo bien, si a veces debes esperar más y si además a veces va demasiado lleno para viajar por carretera así. Pero al menos todos los días en el trayecto veía el mar..._

> _Y no me puedo quejar, al contrario, no me esperaba obtener tan buenas notas. En algunas materias tengo la máxima nota. Son mejor de lo que podría haber soñado y me alegra mucho, en todos los sentidos._

> _Para acabar, como conclusión de este resumen, solo puedo deciros que, si tenéis un sueño, aunque parezca algo complicado o algo loco, intentadlo, porque os puede dar muchas satisfacciones, podéis aprender mucho en diferentes sentidos, os podéis sentir muy bien con vosotros mismos, ser felices y sentir que esta vez sí, esta vez parece el camino correcto, donde debía estar, y aunque sea cuando sea, no importa cuando, es importante estar ahí. Y en mi caso la vida me ha regalado esta oportunidad, que no todo el mundo puede tener (estoy agradecida) para estar donde debo estar. Y recuperar ese sentido de la vida que nos da todo._
