Ganoderma Applanatum is a group of fungi belonging to the polyporaceae family that has characteristics, namely a fan-shaped or wavy semicircle fruit body.

The distinguishing characteristics of Ganoderma applanatum include the surface of its cap which is unvarnished, grooved, and lumpy, dull brown in color, the surface of its pores is white to grayish, which is bruised brown; and its woody, brown flesh.

This fungus is perennial, and individuals can develop for years by producing new layers of spore-producing tubes under the previous year's layer.
