That feeling of entitlement is really killing a lot of people which should not be so.

This part is so true, they failed to realize some of us just don't like disturbing others with our problems especially those who look up to us for money, i can relate with your story and I also learnt to say No already in the past years, cos if we die today those people acting like they cant get things done without us will live fine after our demise.

This is painful to read because we always see these ones in our family than any where else. I know that the entitlement mentality is as a result of taking things for granted. And frankly, I don't give anyone that yard stick which is why I am very much disliked.

It is funny how some people think it's your obligation to give them whatever they ask of. You did the right thing by giving him your support even though things might not be well with you. He on the other hand was wrong not to appreciate you, maybe he was thinking it's your right to give him whatever he asked for. To some point, I think if you would have said no to Him, he wouldn't have gotten the guts say a word to you.

It sucks to hear that he was complaining. Having someone willing to send you anything when you need it is already nice. I don't think it's right to complain when people are willing to do that. So I guess it might be better to say no the next time he asks. Money is a tough issue when it comes to dealing with others.

On my side, I will say what you did is nice, at least you gave him what you had, instead of offering him nothing. There is this saying that "half bread is better than non". Why I said you did well by giving him the amount you had is because, if you had turned him down, that would have been the worst part, because he will say when he needed cash and he came to you, but you offered him nothing. I feel better he said you offered him a little. So even if he meets you tomorrow and says when he needed help you only rendered a little assistance. Then you will be bold to say you gave him what you had at that particular point in time.

I think it's always best to say no when we find the favor too ambiguous for our purse. Omo for this recession 4k no be small money nah. Everybody just dey guide dey hope for better days ahead. But smh there's still going to be people who will always think you've got it all without knowing that it's not that greener on the other side. 

I can identify with your words, I have lost friendships by saying no. The truth is that nothing you do will change them, so the sooner they get away, the better.
The important thing is that you are clear that there is no error in you. 😊

You should be delighted that he mentioned not for being happy with you over the 4k. I think it felt below expectations from you. To me, if he is, someone should cherish. You should just laugh it off and response, I did that out my last kobo. I know for the fact that you cherish him he or she will be someone that is dear to you. However,  you should know how to say no at times. It is just individual differences. Some people will appreciate the little you give while some won't appreciate.
