I am grateful to have learned a great deal from my experiences. One of the quickest paths to downfall is failing to learn from one's experiences. The older I get, the more I realize that experience is the best teacher. If you're not learning from your experiences, you're likely headed for trouble in the long run. One important lesson I've learned is the value of giving things time. Many people don't understand how valuable this can be and how much it can save you from potential issues. I am happy to say that I used to struggle with this, but I’ve learned to give things time before making decisions.

There was a time when I often faced a shortage of money. Whenever this happened, my response was to sell my assets, or as I like to call them, my properties. This seemed like the quickest way to raise cash. Whenever I felt pressure to buy something important but lacked the funds, I would sell some of my assets. However, I soon realized that this approach could lead to my downfall. Each time I wanted to repurchase the same items, it became increasingly difficult. I have gone through this process multiple times with various possessions, and the hardest part has always been buying back the assets I sold.

*Crazy right*

I live in Nigeria where prices are not stable and the price of goods is increasing every day. When I sell some of my stuff and I want to get it back it becomes very difficult for me, the price would have tripled. Sometimes it took me months before I could buy some of these assets back and I have some assets I was unable to buy back simply because they are now very expensive and it is now impossible for me to afford. It was easy for me to study this because as the price of naira depreciates my buying power decreases. It is getting difficult every day for me to buy a lot of the assets that I sold in the past.

One of the phrases I used to tell myself then was, "I cannot have money and be suffering." This phrase nearly destroyed my life because most of the things I was even selling were not for a good price selling. Selling is not bad when you are getting the right price, selling is bad when you are selling for a very cheap price or when you sell below the cost price and this is when selling is bad. However, I was desperate to sell most times I sold for unreasonable prices.

*Stuck*

With this habit, you realize that you are just being stuck because when you sell something because you are broke You sell it for a cheap price and when there is money, you struggle to buy those things back. The problem here is not struggling, the problem is you are only buying the things you once had, you are not moving forward and only buying the same thing. If you have not sold your assets or properties, you should be buying something else. It’s just like one step forward and two steps backward even after many years you remain same position.

This is a common issue that men face, we tend to buy assets and then sell them at lower prices when we feel pressured or are low on cash. Eventually, when our resources are recovered, we struggle to purchase that same asset again. It's important to stay patient and wait for the storm to pass, while also looking for ways to improve our financial situation. When we finally do have money again, we often end up buying different assets instead of repurchasing the same ones. This is how men grow and multiply their assets. Many men experience tough times too but manage to break through these challenges without selling their assets
