Yesterday for whatever reason I happened to see mention of the Charlottesville Unite Rally.    I didn't personally have any interest other than one.   I am a history fan.    Watching ISIS bulldoze and destroy ancient religious structures because they do not fit within their religious beliefs angers me a great deal.     Likewise, the current social justice warrior movement is doing the same thing.     Was slavery bad?   Yes, and it still is, even when it is in a prison.  Did the north and south fight in a civil war in the U.S.?   Yes, and a lot of people died.   Was Robert E. Lee well respected before the war?  Yes.   Was Robert E. Lee well respected after the war?  Yes.    You see while slavery was a big part, but not the only factor by far that lead to that war, it was not why all people were fighting.

I realize that in modern times people really love to generalize.   They love to see one or a group of people that act a certain way and assume that everyone that is there must feel the same way.    This is called a generalization (*a stereotype is a form of this*) and it is a logical fallacy.    Yet, evidence and justification for so many things these days are based upon a generalization.

The Unite Rally was intended as a Peaceful Protest against removing the statue of Robert E. Lee.    Why shouldn't it be protested?   That is history.    It happened in the past.   The justification for the removal of that statue, the banning of specific flags, etc is because they are "*symbols for slavery*".     Yes, indeed they can be that.   That's called history.     We shouldn't be editing history to remove the things from the past that offend us.    They need there to be a reminder of that.   We should never be endorsing the white washing and removal of history.    We need to quit being babies and being offended by everything and trying to alter reality to fit our fantasy safe spaces.    History should be inviolate.    We should not let anyone edit our history good or bad, we should keep it present and learn from it.

Guess what?   There were a lot of people at that Unite Rally that were there for that reason.   They were not white supremacists, or even racists.    They even had at least two black men that were part of their movement (*I only saw two on the live streams, and videos I watched*).  I didn't see anyone attacking them because they were amidst a horde of racists.     Now the obvious attack and slander here would be to call those two I saw "*Uncle Toms*".    Ad hominem attacks are another critical thinking fallacy that is often used to virtue signal and try to focus on any negative that can be thought up to try to distract from actually thinking about the reasons, or why they may choose to be that way.    Call them a name, feel your ego pump up a little bit, pat yourself on the back, without realizing that you just acted like a fool.    Ad hominem attacks are never something to be proud of.   If you are in a crowd of people that don't know how to use reason and recognize such things they might cheer you on, but quantity of ignorant people does not suddenly make the people wise, or intelligent.

Anyway.   Yesterday I started watching live streams and usually I don't have the patience for such things, but what I witnessed unfolding in those streams was disturbing.    It kept my attention for over two hours.    Then I watched a few side videos here and there.    I only watched the daytime parts and actually haven't seen anything related to the later night rallies which from what I have read ended up being peaceful unlike the day rallies.

I watched as the Unite People marched into the park along the road.   There were barriers erected (fences) to indicate where people could go.   Richard Spencer and his ilk who are indeed white supremacists, and racist were in the vangard of the march, but they were actually a pretty small group all things considered.

The counter-protestors were primarily Anti-Racists, including churches and people standing on the steps of their churches, and a lot of Black Live Matter members.     Mixed in all over the place and in groups were Antifa the so-called Anti-Fascists.    I did note with interest that they more or less stopped being the Black Bloc.    I guess they finally wised up and realized that dressing in predominantly black with masks over their face made them easy to spot, and thus easy to target.     Instead I saw a lot of colors and actually very little black clothing.

I heard familiar chanting that I am used to hearing at rallies these days.    People don't really talk much they just gather into big groups and mindlessly chant over and over.    I will say there were some more creative chants at this rally it wasn't just the same repetition of two or three chants by everyone like I am used to seeing.

At some point Richard Spencer and his ilk did something I consider incredibly stupid.    They shouted their "*Hail Trump!*" nonsense that he has been getting a lot of coverage for.     It gives the opposition ammunition for their claims that they are Nazis.

The problem here is that they were a small group of people.   At a guess they may not have been even 10% of the total mass of the Unite Rally.     They were actually small enough that for awhile they actually supposedly got lost and trapped somewhere.   Yes, I heard on the streams reports of Richard Spencer being trapped for awhile.

Trapped by what?

Well, up to this point the protests were peaceful.   I even would later see an interview with a Unite Rally person that said they didn't bring weapons or things to defend themselves as they had discussed beforehand about it needing to be a peaceful rally.    Obviously not all of them got the memo as a small number of them had shields and clubs.    I don't recall seeing them actually use those other than to block grenade like implements, though it wouldn't surprise me to see or hear they had used them.

Even with that.    The protest was peaceful.   Just a lot of shouting.   That is what freedom of speech means.   The Nazis, and people with them who are not racist have the right to say what they want.   That doesn't mean you have to like it.    You have the exact same right to speak back and make it known you disagree.    Freedom of Speech is either free for all or it doesn't exist.

What is not legal is attacking someone for their speech.

So why did this thing turn violent?    It did indeed turn violent.

On the streams people started noticing antifa bringing in water coolers.   In these water coolers they had bottles, and balloons.

These bottles and balloons were not full of water.    They were full of piss, shit, paint, chemicals, and combinations of those things.

Antifa began hurling bottles and balloons full of piss, shit, paint, and chemicals at the Unite Rally members.     It was a little chaotic as people were talking about them throwing things, and then gradually they were explaining what was in it, as there was a lot of "What is that?" type of moments.

Realize.   This is when it turned violent.    It was initiated by Antifa and they were bombarding people with piss, shit, paint, and chemicals.   This is not legal.   Free speech is.

Sometime in these events is when a car that has since been said to have been driven by a guy from Ohio plowed into some Antifa people and then sped away.    There was one fatality there, and some injuries. 

This was a brief and horrifying event that took place in about 10 seconds.   It was wrong, I don't endorse it and the perpetrator should be dealt with appropriately.

Antifa did not stick to just piss, shit, paint, and chemicals though they didn't really let up with that.

They did escalate it further and were macing, people and eventually chucking tear gas into the Unite Rally people.    I saw a couple of times a Unite person grab it quickly enough to throw it back, but that only happened a couple of times.

Aside from the car incident this violence was on Antifa.    Even the car event may have been spurred by this.    Did someone snap after being hit with piss, shit, paint, chemicals, or perhaps the hints I'd heard of tasers?   That doesn't justify their actions, but people have limits.    They snap.    This is especially true in volatile situations with a lot of people.

In fact, based upon what I saw I am very surprised more people were not killed or hurt.    I will say that in the face of what was being done to them the Unite Rally people were mostly keeping their cool.   If you can find unedited footage from the event that spans hour+ in length and is not pausing and restarting I highly recommend watching it.  It will show you a VERY different story from what the mainstream media is reporting.

So where were the police?    Good question, incredibly good question.     They were actually standing pretty far away behind some of the barriers and about the only time they would speak up was to tell people they couldn't come past the barriers.

Word had come down that they were told by the mayor of Charlottesville to "*Stand down*".

Eventually they would start speaking over a loud speaker saying that it had been declared an "*Unlawful assembly*".   People were directed to leave or they would be arrested.   It was strange that the police seemed only concerned about making the Unite Rally people leave and didn't seem to be giving any attention to also dispersing the counter-protestors.

There were people that shouted back it was not unlawful as they had a permit.

So some people tried to comply by going over the barriers to walk away only to be told they could not go that way.    They asked where they were supposed to go and were told to "*go back the way you came*" which is through the Antifa who were hurling the tear gas, macing people, and hitting them with piss, shit, and more.     They tried to not have to go that way, but eventually they would.

They seemed to mostly be allowed to go through these people and for a moment it returned to just shouting.    At one point the counter-protestors started chanting "*Shame, Shame, Shame*" like the atonement walk scene in Game of Thrones for Cersei Lannister from season 6.    I actually found that amusing.   I noticed some of the Unite Rally people even shook their heads and chuckled at that one.

Then word came down that yes, they DID have a permit.   It simply wasn't valid for another 30 minutes.    So 30 minutes later they were allowed to be there.     This seems rather petty and it seems like there was intentional conduct to try to incite a riot.    A riot did not happen.   Consider that.   Consider what Antifa was being permitted to do, and the fact that a riot didn't happen.

It was about that time I stopped watching and went about my day.

Then I saw the news.    Then I got incredibly angry.    There was no mention of Antifa other than the car crash moment.   That was great "*If it bleeds it leads*" narrative that supported the obvious agenda they were hoping for.    They didn't get their riot, so that was the best they could come up with.

Antifa and their grenades, the fact they instigated the violence and perpetrated it for a LONG TIME was not mentioned.   Today when I have calmed down some I looked at some articles.

Okay, so from that we can see that one woman was killed by the nut job from Ohio and the car.    The other two fatalities appear to be related to a police helicopter crashing and it may not even be related.    Perhaps it is.   It is all speculation at this point.

At this point considering what I told you above there is ONE fatality that can be attributed to this event.    The others are speculative at this point.     That's actually pretty impressive that only one person died considering what was going on.    Those Unite Rally people are truly violent (*sarcasm*).

This is an extreme generalization with an obvious agenda.    This does not describe what I witnessed.    Yes, there were such people, but they didn't seem to be a majority.    Other than Richard Spencer and his "*Hail Trump*" idiocy they didn't actually seem to be doing or saying much in terms of hate.    There are always going to be exceptions.    Yet, I didn't see much of that.

So the description by the Washington Post here is disingenuous and clearly designed to paint a narrative they desire.

First, from what I have been able to learn the night event with the torches which was well after I stopped watching was not as violent and less happened.    It seems like WAPO is spinning here and mixing time spans and trying to again paint a picture that is false.   I think this is often called fake news.

Furthermore, the Unite Rally people DID not hurl bottles and such other than the few cases they threw one back that they happened to get that was thrown at them.    It was Antifa that brought these materials in their water coolers.

I find it incredibly menacing and telling that Antifa's actions are brushed under the rugs on this.    They were clear targets for arrest when they began.    Not only was there a stand down order, there is almost no mention of their actions.

I've heard people using this as leverage to justify banning certain types of speech.    I've heard people use it to attack and blame Trump.     I've heard a lot of speculation, and I've witnessed a lot of political opportunism.

What I haven't seen that much of is the truth, or at least the facts.

I've seen the mainstream media busting the entire story up like it is built out of lego blocks and taking just the blocks they want and weaving them into a new construction that looks nothing like the original.

This is what is called fake news.    In the past when Hitler and his people did it we simply called it Propaganda.

So let's see.    We have crowds calling everyone in a crowd Nazis, when there were actually a minority of that type.  Yet we have counter-protestors being allowed to shut down free speech which is what Hitler, Brown Shirts, and Mussolini who were actual FASCISTS did.    I'm thinking of a little bit of **Saul Alinksy's** "*Rules for Radicals*" here which is to blame the opposition for that which you do.    Antifa is not Anti-Fascists except in the backwards land on the other side of the mirror.

I've brought this up and people asked me "*Did they shout them down, or distance themselves?*" to which I countered "*Did people distance themselves from Antifa when they started attacking people?*"

The fact there was a stand down order, and antifa was allowed to operate with no consequences is very informative.    This had ALL the factors needed to be a powder keg.    It should have been way worse than it was.

The only thing I can see that may have stopped that is that a lot of the Unite people met beforehand and left their weapons and other things behind and stressed they wanted this to be a peaceful protest.

Considering what actually happened there I am very surprised it didn't get worse.    I suspect those with the agenda are too so the only thing they have to latch onto is the ONE nut job and his car, and rearranging things and acting like antifa was not there and that violence was initiated on both sides.   It wasn't.    Antifa brought that.     So ask yourself why the news chooses not to talk about them...

I went looking for some streams.   This is so swamped that all I can really find at this moment is on the Alex Jones channel.   It is on Facebook video so might end up getting censored.   Millie Weaver was there.

It is hard to take an hour and a half video out of context.    Perhaps you still could, but I think it does a good job of showing just how much of a sham the mainstream narrative is.
