Hive is a decentralized social media platform that rewards the user based on their content. No other social media gives back to the users. If we take a look at other social medias, they actually take from the user. They benefit from user’s data and showing ads to the users. The end users end up getting nothing but instead losing their valuable time. There is also always a concern of privacy. Since most social medias are centralized, we have to trust the central authority with our valuable data. But that is not the case with Hive ecosystem. Hive ecosystem is decentralized so we don’t have to rely on the central authority but the technology that governs the decentralized ecosystem. Hive also rewards the end users. That is why I like to use Hive as my blogging and social media activities.
Ecency is the most useful place to be for newcomers at Hive. There are quite a few reasons as to why Ecency might be good choice for newcomers as well as anyone on the platform. For newcomers, the Ecency point (ECEN) are very useful. Users get those tokens basically for free. Those tokens are rewarded to the users by doing essentially what otherwise they would have done on hive blog. The users can then use those tokens to promote or boost their content. 
As a newcomer myself I used those ECEN points to boost my introductory post. It may not seem a lot to the regular users but to a newcomer it means a lot. I heard about Ecency and Hive from a Discord friend, that I met through a cryptocurrency-based game. I enjoy the atmosphere of the community, and look forward to getting to know everyone! 

I chose Ecency because it was recommended to me as the easiest front end to Hive. I am learning more about the app as I go, but so far it’s been great fun!

Hello, I was made aware of hive by my brother. Because of my hobby and travels, I like to post things on Facebook. He said he knew of a site where I can do the same and get rewarded for it. That was good enough for me to check out the site. As I had never heard of Blockhain before, I had to read through it a bit first.
I quickly noticed that there are some nice people here who write great reports. There are many different communities here, there is something for everyone, and there is also very good interaction between people, which I quickly found out after I signed up. I can write what I want here, as long as I don't do anything punishable, there are almost no rules, which I find very good. The various competitions and actions are also very good for cohesion in a community, I didn't know anything like that before. I can write a wonderful story about this. In fact, I've done that in several blogs in the past. But it all comes down to the same in the end. The biggest reason I ended up on Hive / Ecency is because I was in dire need of money. Through people I got to know on a Dutch blogging platform, and who were already active on <strike>steemit</strike> HIVE, I finally decided to create an account. That was four years ago now. One of the main reasons is a **warm and friendly community**. Different people of different ages, from different countries, with different interests, different skills...are connected with one platform. That opportunity gives us a chance to learn and share!

I came here to improve myself on dapps because dapps working with blockchains will be very important in the future. Thanks to the groups I join, I can talk to knowledgeable people. I will be able to get the necessary help to become a developer.

I joined Hive because I want to enjoy the benefit of decentralized blogging which has been wanting for long in my blogging experience for long. Eccency on the other hand rewards me with daily points by using the app for my daily engagement. This is my main reason for using them because the points can be used to boost post for more audience or upvote. 

Before I joined the hive platform, I was playing splinterlands, but it was hacked which in turn caused me to lose everything that I had built up there. Having lost all my DEC, SPS and Cards I decided to try and get back on my feet by earning some HIVE in order to fund my future card purchases that would come in handy. So far I have only made a few posts and have been mostly posting my season records. I hope to perhaps more seriously blog in the future once I have more time.
