It is sad to hear. I don't think it was a bidbot because every time a curator first observed the content and only then he/she curated that. Well, everything happens for a good cause, let's hope for the best. 

And more power to ecency, it has always been best for me.

It has been my observation that many of the strongest voices attacking things like boosting, labeling it "vote buying", were among the people most abusing and benefiting from bitbots back in the day. Perhaps a sense of guilt motivates their current actions?

Anyway, I rarely used boosts for myself, but I often did for others. I didn't realize there was a room in the Discord for this. So if I visit the ecency discord, I can submit people to be boosted there?

I absolutely love Ecency - and all that you stand for!   It's very unfortunate that projects that encourage Hivians - is attacked.   I dont understand why someone would ever see what Ecency does as negative.  It is one of the most positive projects on the platform - it's always concerned with everyone growing together.

well - maybe that's why.   some projects only want to have one-sided growth.  and they attack anything that's not greedy like them.  sad - but meh.  this is the way of the world.

The only thing we can do is continue to support Ecency, through thick and thin.

If only this set of people who are against boosting know how it has encouraged many hivers to remain on the chain. 

The ecency team are great and I believe they do come up with a unique way to use points. To me, this is far better than this discord engage- To engage directly on the Blockchain

Late to comment yet ..

- I've always seen boosting the posts with Ecency points a s a bonus and not as a main motivation
- I always wondered why didn't other Hive frontends introduce their own points systems
- I always admired the hard work that Ecency curators provided, kudos to you all
- Ecency was, is, and remains my favourite Hive front end! 
- I will continue to delegate to it and contribute in this way
- I will need to investigate/discover how can I put my heap of Ecency points to a good use, not for me personaly but how to distribute them

That said, please, continue the great work. 

Well I may not know what controversy people are putting across, but if there is a frontend I love so much on hive is  the ecency, it's simple and easy to understand. I have always given my support to this great community, I have tried my best to unboard newbies in to use this frontend and seeing this new is really sad I must say. But I will like to see the options provided before drawing conclusions 

What is happening, the ecency points and boosts have been a motivating factor to us content creators, that's mostly why many hivers are always here creating their own contents, it's very valuable to us, why would some people distablise it?, 

Anyway, I know the quality ability of our honourable leader @melinda010100 & her team has, I trust they will come out with what is far better than ecency points, 
lets watch and see.

 I happen to think that the people that refused to understand how the Ecency boosting system worked must be a bit thick! Let's move on and make Ecency better than ever.

I love  @untilwelearn 's idea of setting Ecency as a beneficiary on our posts! Totally voluntary and a marvelous way to show our support for future Ecency development! I'm in!

It is a shame to see this use case for Ecency points disappear. Ecency has ran one of the best and most transparent curation programs on Hive. The collecting and using Ecency points on Hive as gamification has been really fun and encouraged the usage of Ecency.

I am looking forward to the new usecases for Ecency points and seeing Ecency grow further in new ways.

Drama is something very typical of our human relationships, we are social beings, and we tend to have differences of opinion that can cause very opposing positions.

I was attracted to Ecency's points system, but I know it's like putting the post on a review list board. If the post is attractive, it may be voted on by a volunteer curator, but boosting it did not imply that there would necessarily be a vote.

The unfortunate thing is that there are always people who fall into the extreme of being Trolls, they are not going to be happy with anything that is done. They are a type of people who hate things to move forward in peace, and they make all the noise and damage they can to destroy good initiatives.

Say goodbye to boost, your service is appreciated. There is still the possibility of using the points to promote the publication :) At least until the haters do not think of attacking the system of promoting the posts as well.

Frankly I find that very unsatisfying. It's like "we were bullied and we capitulated, we gave in to the bullies". This is how I read it. No courage, straightforward capitulation. I can't understand that and can't approve such a decision, I'm sorry

It's the second project that I see in a short time giving in to these dramaqueens and people think they own Hive (the other one was @win.hive - please let me know when you'd be active again)

I think it's completely wrong to give in to this because Hive is a DECENTRALIZED platform. For me this means that everyone can have and defend his opinion (also the people that think it's wrong to reward and even "sell" votes) but nobody should set rules and tell the others how they should use the platform and the possibilities it's offering. 

These possibilities are not a question of this is right and this is wrong and certainly not "you shouldn't do this or that"! This is web 3.0 and this is DECENTRALIZATION, people... It's a kind of anarchy but this is what it is. @ecency Thank you for the great time and I hate to see the boosting function go.
