Recently I have been enjoying being the DCity President.  Apart from other work that I have going on in my life, I am enjoying to roleplay as a politician and try to promote and represent a very fun and interesting game built on HIVE. 

For me, there are several benefits to this, even as I learn more about token economics along the way.  

## 1. It gives me reason to send out a tweet and participate on #HIVEtwitter

@nathanmars is back, and there is new energy in Crypto Twitter and around the #crypto world.  If we want people to get interested in HIVE, we need to be out there sharing what is so great about it.  Being the President has given me the energy to do just that.  

## 2. Using SIM to vote for President keeps more SIM off the market.  

Whether I continue to win as President or not, the fact that there is action and activity around the position of president is a good sign that SIM is being used for its 'other use case', that of saving up 'SIM Voting Power'.

This theoretically should be having a positive effect on the price.  

## 3. Meet new players, accounts and friends.

Its when we have similar interests that we connect.  Around DCity.io I have been able to connect with people from around the world, in parts of the world I would never have imagined communicating with, much less debating economic policy.  

Being social is important and fun especially during hard times.

## 4. Experiment new levels and layers of governance

This is where I think that HIVE has a benefit, even though it has not solved its own DPoS problems yet.  By being 'fast and free' to experiment, develop, build and game, DCity.io is just one way in which we are experimenting with new forms of governance.

We are participating in a live study of a new type of DPoS goverance, a 30 day weighted Proof of Stake system.

These are some of the perspectives I come from when playing this game.  I am a sociologist who has studied economics, I am an investor and developer and ideaman and scoper and synergist.  Oh, and I'm a gamer.  So if you ever have a question, yes, I am indeed 'playing' :)

So just recently, a political opponent accused me of basically being some rich fat cat that could vaccuum up SIM to serve my desire of dominating everyone as President.  This attack seemed a little off base to me, but as he was flashing my wallet around discord, maybe there is a ring of truth to it.

And then I remembered, I had actually reinvested gains in two token projects that have seen price appreciation recently, LEO and ARCHONM.

I bought both when we were coming over from STEEM.  I had **for years** put all my extra pennies in STEEM, to the chagrin of all around me.  But when STEEM pumped, forked, and then pumped again, I had the last laugh finally!

And as those pumped prices fell, I came over and invested in some HIVE projects, including LEO.

## LEO is consolidating, could it pump again?

I looked, there is no reason that LEO could not be worth 10 million or 20 million hive as a project, which could mean a 2-4 hive per token price would not be out of this world.  For now 68 hive cents seems like a good time to take some profits.

We also invested heavily in ARCHON and ARCHONM.  This was a new tribe, and after talking a lot with the founder, we became the major investor, taking a risk and pushing a dream.  Not content to hold and hope, we did what we do with all our SYNERGY FUND investment, we started developing alongside the founder and team, and posted, invited, invented and encouraged our way to gains.

When the very limited ARCHONM token, of which there are only 1000, finally ran out of volume, we came to the market to provide liquidity.

##  Take Profits, Reinvest

We naturally look around before taking profits, is there anything else to do with this?  Of course we like to power up some portion of gains, but in this case, we saw an opportunity in a SIM price below PEG.

By listing low buys for SIM, we have been able to allow those most interested in selling their SIM to fill up our bags.

Now its possible that SIM price will not maintain the peg.  Its possible that it will be a loser, gerber will run away and we will all cry.  But we are taking the risk, we have put our 'skin in the game'.  

With much liquid SIM saved as Voting Power, its possible that SIM may never go over its peg again, like it did during 2nd edition release.  Its a risk.
