Welcome to Saturday Savers Club with Susie Saver.

### First - A Savings Challenge - Win SPI!
**Yes, you could develop a life-changing habit *and* win some SPI!**

The secret to saving is to start small and to start today. Yes, it is as easy as that 😁. The Penny a Day Challenge is perfect for that. You start with such a tiny amount, infinitesmal, that you wonder "how is that going to make a difference"?

Well, over time, it does make a difference. By taking part in the Penny a Day Challenge, over 365 days you will have saved 66,700 pennies. That's another secret about saving: time. Sometimes, that's all that is needed: you put away a little and leave it to grow over time.

Our first savers, @susie-saver and @justclickindiva, are 25% through the Penny a Day challenge. Have a look at [last week's post](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@justclickindiva/week-13-progress-by-justclickindiva-or-saturday-savers-club) by @justclickindiva to see her progress and how she feels about it.

This is an invitation to our new members (and everyone who would like to join us) - especially @missaj and @fruityfruitz (and bring your friends, everyone is welcome) - to join the Penny a Day Challenge **this week** 🤑.

#### How to Enter the Challenge
- print out the tracker sheet below.
- start putting aside Hive every day in your savings, starting with Day 1 = 0.01 Hive, Day 2 = 0.02 Hive etc (you can see how @justclickindiva has done this in her wallet).
- write a post about joining the Challenge in [leofinance.io](https://leofinance.io/) (get extra pennies for your savings, why not)?
- include the tags #saturdaysavers #eds and put a link to your post in the comments below.

If you are already regularly saving with Saturday Savers Club, you can also enter the challenge with a progress post about your savings activity over the past 13 weeks. What your goals were, how you are doing, what you've learned - that kind of thing 😍.

# More about EDS tokens

EDS tokens are a low-risk income token, ideal for people who want to save. There were only 20,000 originally and they were all sold at 1 Hive each, with guaranteed earnings of 12% each year. **You can now acquire EDS tokens through the [EDS Miner token](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@spinvest/eds-miners-edsm-for-sale-currently-paying-out-a-60-roi).**

Earnings come from powering up and leasing out the Hive that came from selling the tokens, plus earnings from posts and comments each week. We're using the  [365 Penny A Day Challenge](https://leofinance.io/@spinvest/join-the-penny-a-day-saving-challenge-and-get-5-free-spi-tokens-everyone-welcome) framework for the Saturday Savers Club. We're aiming to save £667 worth of pennies by the end of the year.

### 1. Check Progress
Each week, we're going to check in through this post and see where we are up to. Our target for today, 3rd April, was 6.30p. Next week, we'll be saving 6.79p and by Saturday we'll have savings of 50.53p (look how that is growing)!

Each week, I'll be buying Hive for @susie-saver's account with the pennies we've saved.

**Here's this week's results - 6.30p buys 8.13 Hive.**
*144 Hive saved in 14 weeks! Plus we're earning 3.22% inflation on powered up Hive. Let's see what @susie-saver's investments will bring!*

> **EDSM are paying a good return at present: as well as weekly income, EDSM holders are mining EDS tokens. This week, @susie-saver bought 0.813 EDSM bringing her total to 4.313 EDSM - she's aiming for 5 EDSM, then she'll choose another investment.**

Today, @susie-saver's Hive account is worth 39.42 (last week 26.11p) and the Hive-Engine account is worth 63.57p (last week 32.00p) = 102.98p (last week 58.11) in total. Pennies saved = 43.74, so we're doing pretty well with our investments.
