So I was not only able to illicit a response from a Bitcoin maximalist, but the message was so dismissive and ridiculous that it really shows just how badly brainwashed maximalists are.  No matter how much evidence and facts are presented they will never be able to understand how reality itself rejects their worldview. 

I don't even think that bitcoin being flipped is going to change these people's mind.  They will just simply decide that reality is wrong and they are correct.  Prepare for extreme mental gymnastics. 

I bring up the concept of velocity and how deflationary economics are known to be terrible for any economy that falls victim to it.  The rebuttal?  Nah, that's just gibberish not even worth a discussion.  So perfect.  I couldn't of asked for a better answer from a known maximalists in the space.  Just wow.

There's really nothing left to say, which is good because I'm sitting here writing this while playing White Elephant.  Why is it called White Elephant?  Apparently an ancient king would gift these sacred animals to people he didn't like because you can't use them for work and they eat 200-600 pounds of food a day.

Hard to engage with them but I donโ€™t think completely giving up discussion with people is a good idea. We are at the point now because of the shouting down of opinions. I donโ€™t know how Iโ€™d handle talking to him but I donโ€™t think ignoring it is conducive. He responded which is cool.

- Conviction and Faith are synonyms, because neither requires an ounce of proof.
And once one embraces either,  your resolve can become unshakeable, even in the face of overwhelming evidence it is time to change course. 
- They should consider the crew of the Titanic. It was unsinkable until it wasnโ€™t. 
- Then even faced with overwhelming evidence of their imminent peril they delayed abandoning shipโ€ฆ because why would you abandon an unsinkable shipโ€ฆjust because itโ€™s taking on water?
- Such is life, as you said, smile and move on.

Ahahah. You're asking for people to sum up the entire Bitcoin Standard book in a Tweet. That's never going to happen. It's a very long book and if you really want to understand that issue, you should read it yourself.

If you can't be bothered, try to find some podcasts where Saifedeen Amous talks about those issues.

But again, trying to get that whole thesis into a Tweet? You can grab a chair and get comfortable... because you'll be waiting for a really long time.

Sure, but that is not the issue.  The issue is that maximalists will shut down any logical discussion when the information presented does not mesh with their pre-determined narrative.   

I was not asking for a summery of Bitcoin economics in a single Tweet. 

I was expecting self-proclaimed scientists to do science and remain skeptical and willing to change their conclusion based on new evidence.   What do I get?  No, that information is gibberish not worth my time.  Known facts like deflationary economics being bad are "gibberish".  Pretty ridiculous really.
