En las Grandes Ligas hay ciudades muy tradicionales a la hora de jugar béisbol, Chicago es una de ellas ya que está dividida, posee dos equipos, hablamos de los White Sox y los Cubs, quienes esta campaña fueron muy distintos en el rendimiento y lo que propusieron a la hora de iniciar la campaña, hablando de White Sox yo no los daba del todo ganadores de su división, y mucho menos de la manera que lo hicieron, cabalgaron toda la temporada hacia el título divisional, tanto así que los más cercanos a dia de hoy están a 13 juegos, en la división central de la americana fueron los White Sox y 4 más, que ni un susto pudieron darle.
Cuando se habla de los Cubs yo al menos imaginaba una lucha de tú a tú con los Brewers, ya que llegaban con roster muy parecidos, donde incluso me atrevería decir que los Cubs le sacaban ventaja a estos en cuanto a la ofensiva, pero todo se quedo en esto suposiciones, ya que en estos momentos están a 26 juegos de ellos y con un diferencial de carreras de -135, decepcionando a sus aficionados, porque hace rato es tan sin posibilidades de llegar a la tierra prometida.

Estábamos acostumbrados ver con ese uniforme azul a Anthony Rizzo, Krist Bryan , Javier Báez, quienes eran la cara de la organización, básicamente el equipo giraba entorno a ellos, pero no una mala primera mitad hizo que se bajaran los brazos rápidamente, por lo que se deshicieron de ellos enviando Rizzo a Yankees, Bryan a Gigantes, Baez a Mets se desmantelaron pero obtuvieron piezas jovenes muy valiosas.
En pocas palabras hay que decir que posiblemente este mal momento de los Cubs se traslade a la siguiente temporada, porque como dije anteriormente ya no estan las super estrellas, y hay que esperar que los nuevos talentos de las granjas terminen de explotar, aunque hay algunos como él venezolano Rafael Ortega quien a tenido muy buenos números con 11 cuadrangulares, 33 impulsadas y .289 de promedio, aunque creo que el proyecto recae más sobre Wilson Contreras, quien será el encargado de llevar la voz de mando dentro del terreno, recordando que el ya fue pieza fundamental en la Serie Mundial que obtuvieron.

Poseen bateadores de poder como José Abreu quien tiene 29 cuadrangulares y 113 impulsadas, donde es el 4to bate del equipo, también se le añade al receptor Yasmani Grandal quien a pesar de perder gran parte de la temporada llegó encendido y aportó 23 cuadrangulare. Hablar del pitcheo es hablar de 3 nombres estos serían Lucas Giolito quien a ganado 11 juegos con efectividad de 3.52 y las Lance Lynn con 10 victorias y 2.72 de efectividad y por último Carlos Rodon con 13 victorias y 2.37 de efectividad, estos serían los primeros 3 abridores para las series de postemporada.
