Saludos aficionados a los deportes y en especial a los amantes del béisbol, como siempre digo: "una hermosa tarde para disfrutar de la Pelota". Agricultores, en esta tercera jornada sabatina de la Serie del Caribe Gran Caracas 2023, les toca ser el plato fuerte del evento, tiene la difícil tarea de enfrentarse al conjunto local. 

En la tarde del viernes no pudieron los muchachos de Carlos Martí, encontrar el batazo oportuno que los catapultara a la victoria. Nuevamente les toca enfrentar otro gran equipo, Leones de Caracas, quiénes traen una mentalidad ganadora de espíritu por la victoria. 

Los venezolanos, intentarán buscar la tan deseada victoria, en un partido super importante donde el que logre quedarse con el éxito, se colocaría en una muy cómoda posición. Los cubanos tendrán además que jugar ante la influencia del animado público local, espectadores que deben abarrotar el estadio de "La Rinconada" para ver a sus Leones del Caracas.

***Agricultores (CUB)*** en esta ocasión trae a Yoel Mogena #78, lanzador derecho de 31 años de edad de la provincia de Granma. Debuta en Series Nacionales de Béisbol (SNB) a los 24 años en la SNB#55, siempre con los Alazanes de Granma. Su mejor temporada fue la #60, cuando ganó 9 y perdió 6 luego de 17 aperturas. Sus estadísticas de por vida en la SNB (excluyendo Liga Élite): JL- 105 (54 como abridor), JG- 30, JP- 21, JS- 2, INN- 403.0, C- 219, CL- 187, PCL- 4.18, WHIP- 1.44, K- 177 (4.1 x cada 9INN), BB- 134 (2.9 x cada 9INN).

***Leones del Caracas (VEN)*** por su parte trae al derecho Guillermo Moscoso #70, de 39 años de edad nacido en Maracay, su tercera Serie del Caribe (2009, 2021 y 2023) todas con Venezuela. Un lanzador que los 21 años tuvo su primera incursión en Ligas Menores, con la organización de los Tigres de Detroit (2005). Acumula 5 campañas en MLB con los Rangers de Texas (2009, 2010), Atléticos de Oakland (2011), Rockies de Colorado (2012) y Gigantes de San Francisco (2013). Se ha enfrentado a 956 bateadores, permitiendo 206 hits (8.3 x cada 9 INN), tuvo una incursión en tierras japonesas con 3 temporadas en el equipo de Yokohama Bay Stars (2014, 2015 y 2016).

***El juego de pelota:***

Leones del Caracas (VEN) aplastaron 20 - 3 a los Agricultores (CUB), implantando un nuevo récord de indiscutibles, con 25 en total, para las Series del Caribe de Béisbol. El duelo fue sentenciado a muerte desde la misma primera entrada, cuando el Caracas fabricó racimos de 7 anotaciones. Lastimosamente, explotaron a batazos al abridor cubano Joel Mogena, que solo sacó un out y admitió 5. El primer relevista Alexander Valiente también fue víctima de dos anotaciones más.

La ofensiva de los locales fue despiadadamente descomunal, se mantuvieron disfrutando su juego de béisbol hasta el último minuto con gran pasión, no le bajaron ni una rayita al ritmo, hasta finalmente igualar la marca de anotaciones para un juego de Serie del Caribe. Agricultores de Cuba esta vez se vieron ridículamente en el terreno, totalmente desmotivados ante un rival muchísimo superior.

Quizás de esta manera, como siempre por las malas, entendamos que la Serie del Caribe es un torneo de calidad al que se va a ganar. Por tanto, hay que llevar todo el refuerzo posible, dejar atrás todos los paternalismos y regionalismos que tanto daño le hacen al béisbol cubano. Señores, ningún torneo de béisbol puede ser un pretexto para estimular a peloteros, ninguna Liga del Mundo lleva a un torneo los peloteros que no van a usar, por el simple hecho de que merecen el estímulo de estar allí.

Por eso la pelota Cubana me necesita urgentemente un cambio de mentalidad, volverla profesional como tiene que haber sido toda una vida, si es que queremos levantar su nivel acorde a los nuevos tiempos. De una vez y por todas, alejarla de toda influencia política que afecte su desarrollo, la pelota es del pueblo cubano, no de un gobierno. Que más tendrá que suceder, cuántas vidas hay que sufrir para que nuestro pasatiempo nacional, salga de las propiedades en que se encuentra.

Los más destacados fueron por los ganadores: José Rondón 5-4, Doble, Jonrón y 6 remolques. Danry Vásquez 5-3, Jonrón y 3 Impulsadas, Francisco Arcia 5-3 con 3 traídas al Home Plate. Por Agricultores: Yuniesky Larduet pegó 3 jits y anotó 2. Yosvani Alarcón conectó 2 y trajo igual cantidad al plato. Agricultores volverá al terreno el domingo a las 14:30 hora local frente a Cañeros de Los Mochis, el campeón de México.
