<div class="text-center">  El obelisco podemos visualizarlo bien desde casi el final de la avenida Corrientes. Uno lo ve desde lejos y parece una varita mágica, en realidad es una estructura en forma de trapecio; es icono del país. Su construcción fue el 23 de mayo de 1936, reemplazando, la iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari. Este monumento se realizó con la finalidad de modernizar la ciudad de Buenos Aires.     Llegamos cerca del obelisco, ya que el está en todo el medio de la calle. Lo pudimos ver bien porque cerca está algo como un mirador, que subimos hasta allá, desde allí podemos verle más claro y tomarnos fotos. Nos encontramos con mi amigo Ramonchi y nos acompañó como guía turístico, igual que Julián. Allí tuvimos un buen rato viendo, tomándonos fotos, hablando luego bajamos y cruzamos la calle 9 de julio, para ir a la Plaza de la República que está en todo el frente del obelisco, en ella están dos letras la A y B formadas con árboles, estás letras serían la iniciales de la ciudad Buenos Aires; en esa misma plaza estaban reunidos un grupo de venezolanos vendiendo y otros disfrutando. En ese momento no estaba abierta la puerta al público, pero me hubiese encantado tener acceso y subir al mirador dentro del obelisco, para así poder ver la ciudad desde los 67,5 metros de altura con los que cuenta.
