##### Starting life is not an easy thing to do, especially when you have been conditioned to believe the odds were against you.
Starting from the early days of education, we were made to be slaves to a broken system which believes more in an unequal equality instead of equity.

##### I use the term equity because no two fingers are equal, and as such, no two individuals have the same rate of learning. The educational system in my country however, works on the assumption that everyone is equal.

##### Imagine a class where the teacher categorically tells someone she doesn't expect much from the person because his grades was average in class, they compare and forget that comparisons is a tool to turn a man into something he was never meant to be.
##### It is common knowledge that when life gives you Apples, you blend it and make Apple juice, but what if someone takes away the blender?

##### Back then, there were some people that teachers and lecturers felt were the only ones going to be successful, while they thought others were going to be nobodies.

# The life back then

##### The man who wins a battle is not actually the person standing after a fight, it is the person who history eventually remembers.
##### I am not a first class student, but I have something higher than a first class brain.
##### The first class students I have interacted with in my journey so far in life, they mostly have good cramming skills, or they cram and pass, a year down the line, they forget what they learnt the previous year, and I wonder, of what good is knowledge if it is easily forgotten?

##### Don't get me wrong, there are first class students and there are first class materials. The difference between them is the first class students cram and get to the top, they get stuck when life changes the rule on them suddenly. They realize the cannot cram anymore, they actually have to use their brains now, but guess what, they have no real knowledge acquired, they just crammed.

##### The first class materials don't cram,they realize that being at the top is not about a 5.0 CGPA,it is about allowing the knowledge amassed become useful in solving real life problems. Their brain starts 100% when life tries to take them to 0%.
##### They are the real problem solvers.

##### Of what use is a first class chemist who doesn't know you don't add water to acids, you go the other way round? The first class student might make such a mistake in a real life after graduation, but a first class material knows not to make such mistake.

##### Why did I first explain all these? To show that some people are truly first class materials and they deserve it.
##### When I was in secondary school, the teachers then used to act like some individuals were never going to amount to much,  the reason was because they didn't get the highest grades in class.

##### Back then, we had snobs who simply felt you were not worthy of their talk, because the teachers had already made them believe they were millionaires already based on their academic performance alone.
##### I won't lie, I was not the first five positions in my class, the day I came 8th, it was like a dream, but those who know me will tell you that I am very complex and smart.

##### The problem with the educational system here is some teachers just teach out of frustration because they had no better offer in an oil company and so they are focused on their favorites. They forget that not everyone was tailored for the life in the classroom kind of life.

##### We use the same teaching pattern and expect different results. Anyone can come first if the conditions are right, but the truth is we don't all assimilate the same way. Some people are moved by visuals, others are moved by audio, the reason why some others countries go as far using projectors in class is because of the fact that certain people don't assimilate certain ways.

##### Some were made for practical knowledge, others were made for theoretical knowledge, it depends on having a seasoned teacher to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each student, but sadly in an overpopulated class, where the teacher has already made some apostles and named them the successful ones, why will there be equity.

# But steemit changed all that

##### I have never competed with anyone for positions in a class because I know the system never suited my style of learning. I am like a self learning A.I. I learn continuously and have this insatiable appetite to learn constantly and as such, I knew I was going places.

##### Success is never defined by others, but by self. Anytime I am in doubt, I simply tell myself that everything will be alright and re-read the Gifted hands book by Ben Carson.
##### I knew I was going to make it even though I didn't know how.

##### I was always a fan of entrepreneurship and I had a start up because I didn't want to become a slave to the life of shirts and tie, I wanted to make a positive difference ti the society while the ones that the teachers appointed for success wanted a government paying job.

##### I am just roughly 5 months into the platform and my steem power alone is about to make me a naira millionaire when the "chosen" ones have not finished the mandatory youth service, talk more or less of getting a government paying job (which might never come).
