###### Part 3 of this series involves framing and installing the door for the vocal booth entrance, and solidifying the framing over the whole project. I also demonstrate the already vastly improved acoustics in the only partially finished sound room compared to the completely untreated (and uninsulated) bedroom next to it.

###### Choosing the right door for a vocal booth build is often times easier said than done when not crafting your own from scratch.

###### Ideally a solid wood door (that you properly outfit) is what you want, and what I got at first, but I choose to later switch that out with the one I used (partially hollow), since I wanted to prioritize the door being as skinny as possible to reduce the amount of sound leak through it from the outside by providing a smaller gap away from the mic position.

###### I tired to get a door like the ones you see in schools and some office buildings with the skinny window on them, but those doors cost $600-$1000+ USD new and are often custom made. They are also incredibly hard to find pre-owned, and when you can they go quickly to people who know about them... they are also extremely large and heavy. While it would be cool to install one of these, it just wasn't in the cards for this project.

>I found one at one of the door stores I went to that would have been perfect - unfortunately the business was using this one for their break room and wouldn't come off it.
