As a young Nigerian, especially female, It's is very normal to adopt a lot of think pieces handed down to us by the older ones who are so much less informed about the possibilities of making money than our generation is.

When people say you cannot save your way out of poverty, here's what they mean: If you are earning let's say a minimum of $300 per month, they expect that you have family to feed, mortgage to pay and a lot of other things to do and so the money you would be saving will not be tangible enough for anything important.

However, these were the days were you didn't have anything else to help improve your finances like Investments, trading and the king of them all, Cryptocurrency. It's why a lot of the older folks in my country don't understand it, It's why they believe it to be a form of black magic. 

These days, things are a lot more progressive and it would be an epic failure if we were to assume the same stance. I know that there are a lot of young Nigerians doing so much in the Crypto space, however, there are a lot more who have chosen not to see it for the greatness that it is or others who use it as a get rich quick scheme.

All of this is to say with a mighty emphasis that **YES, IT IS POSSIBLE TO SAVE YOUR WAY OUT OF POVERTY** if you would make smart choices and informed investments and trades... In my country we would say "Put your head down" It means do your homework, be patient and informed.

For too long a time, our parents made us believe that western civilization was evil, and something to run away from. These days we realize that that school of thought was informed by their inability to understand what the civilization was about or what it could do for them, I am glad a lot of us are breaking free from that, but I hope that we approach these things with the right frame of mind.
