I believe self-awareness is really important nowadays because I've noticed that ignorance is spreading in many minds. Not just simple ignorance but a kind that actually leads people to be even more unaware. Even though we live in a time full of technology, the internet, and plenty of information, many of us still lack real awareness and just follows what shines in the media and the street. 

We need to become more educated and thoughtful because we’re living in a tough time where the media often spreads misinformation. Sometimes this is done to confuse people, sell products, or distract them from important issues and they exploit ignorance of people or even their empathy to gain what they want.

Since we live in a globalized and capitalist world, there are many things designed to limit our intellectual freedom and focus our attention only on certain topics. This is why many people blindly follow influencers or channels without questioning them or without asking themselves if this will benefit me or the one who is talking behind the screen.

Nowadays, many people think copying celebrities or athletes is how they grow or gain value. Even though misinformation is everywhere, we often don’t stop to think critically about it if we think well and see how they act and what they offer to the society and even to the world.

This affects the younger generation a lot, and it’s worrying to think about what happens when certain ideas are pushed to influence young people sometimes leading them away from what makes us truly human and this is the big mistake that many fall in that they move new ideas to the new generations without they feel.

The best thing we can do is pause, reflect, and not just follow others blindly whether they are channels, brands, or people. My advice is to accept ideas that make sense to you and that you believe in. Buy only what you really need and follow inspiring people who tell the truth instead of those who try to mislead you.
