Son aves muy inteligentes y se alimentan de insectos y algunas frutas, les gusta esconderse en la maleza y esperar a que pasen las vacas o caballos para arrancarle las garrapatas.

Los escarabajos, grillos y taras no se sarvan del ataque de estas aves, ellas se camuflan muy bien hasta lograr el objetivo.
