There is this change in Scottish prison laws recently.

They've decided to let some prisoners out earlier - after serving 40% of their time instead of 50%. I think it's a bold move to deal with overcrowding, but I can see why people are divided about it.

From what I understand, around 300-ish inmates could be walking free next February. Though it won't apply to those convicted of domestic abuse or sexual offenses, which I feel is pretty important.
