My Actifit Report Card: October 18 2021

Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!

Today had finally arrived-at least according to @actifit-lamb! We were headed to the Gold Mine Trail!  She was so excited because not only will she have a story to post in the near future, she was going to play an integral role in @silvertop’s post for today! 🐑

We all hopped into the pickup and met Jan in her car and headed to the trailhead. It’s only about 5 minutes from home which is really nice. A totally historical trail almost right in our backyard!

Who is that……Sasquatch?!  No, it’s @silvertop trekking down to the creek near the mill at the Gold Mine Trail!

It was a beautiful hike ad I’m am glad we all got to go. I’m looking forward to snow and taking a winter hike up there. It should be beautiful!

Love the way those leaves stick to the rocks. The first mushroom appears to be a helvella crispa. Some people eat these but they do contain a toxin that can build up in your system that is carcinogenic.

Technically there is a safe way to eat those mushrooms, if you parboil them then dump the water out and then cook them again that gets rid of their hydrazine toxin. I'm all about finding edible mushrooms. Sadly those helvella crispas have a very bland taste so its not really worth it unless you are in survival mode.
