WE82 post topics: My memorable moments

I will like to appreciate the effort of @galenkp and the #weekend-engagement for putting this up to share our memorable moments for 2021 which I really find quite interesting.

The topic I choose to share my own memories is the first one which says;

> Explain your most memorable moment from 2021 and why it was so, using 250 words or more. Please use your own pictures also, if you have them, to punctuate your post - Your own pictures make it more personal than stock images ever could.

This definitely will not be forgotten so soon because it's definitely a memorable one for me and how I experienced it. I was posted to Kano state in the northern part of Nigeria to do my National Youth service corps (NYSC) for a year which is a one year journey one would embark on when graduating from higher institution and also it's once in a life time to experience such for a year. I was posted to Kano in May to serve and it was my first time been in the northern part of Nigeria.

During the Christmas break I decided to travel to celebrate both the Christmas and the new year with my family rather than staying in Kano state but my choice of state became two options either I travel to Lagos or Abuja. I decided to go to Abuja since I haven't been there before and also it's still in the North but 7hrs from Kano state. Why I decided to go to Abuja was that I reside in Lagos and it's a two days journey from Kano state when going by road, so I decided to go to Abuja since I have relative there and also my younger brother stays there which will also be an opportunity to meet him once again after four years.

I travelled on a weekend on the first week of December from Kano to Abuja and the journey is one memorable one I would never forget. The road that leads to Kano to Abuja is not a safe one at the moment especially when passing kaduna state because of kidnappers and bandits that are terrorizing that road but I travelled with faith that I would get to my destination successfully.

When we got to kaduna our bus broke down damn we were all in fear because we knew how terrible that area looks like but we keep on hoping for the bus to start. We left Kano state around 10am and the bus broke down around 2pm in kaduna, there was no network in that particular area and everywhere looks so scary, any bus we tried to stop refuses to hear because in that area everyone is a suspect trying to play tricks to kidnap.

But along the line we finally got someone to help when he was passing by with his bike he at that moment took the driver to a mechanic shop to get someone to fix the bus, when they went they spent about two hours and at that moment we had no other option to wait since others buses we are stopping all fell on deaf ears so we waited. When they eventually arrived they repaired the bus and it's was in good condition again. So we continued our journey spending roughly 3hrs at kaduna but we were happy we didn't experience another terrible thing entirely.

I got to Abuja very late around 10 to 11pm but am grateful to reunite with family again. I met my brother once again and it was fun because the last time I saw him was when we went to bury our father who passed on four years ago, so I was happy seeing him once again.

We celebrated Christmas with my aunt and my cousins and on boxing day we went for picnic in a place called millennium Park in Abuja. I really enjoyed my stay here and am pleased to see them once again.
