Browsing through not so old memories

The summer of 2016, was something special to me. On the day when my youngest had her first birthday I had the first flight in my life. I traveled to see my family in a long time. After a few days at their home, we started a road trip around Canada. Ow my, how much beautiful to see.

At first, all the fields and straight roads felt strange to me. All of you, who managed to visit Slovenia you just know why. But for all of you who didn't let me just say - up's and down's and turns all the time. :) But ok, after a few hundred kilometers it just felt natural. In our three day trip, we managed to travel 2600 kilometers and went from Edmonton, through Jasper, and Banff National park. And even through Kelowna in British Columbia and Calgary.

I could post thousands of photos here how amazing it was. But for today's post, I chose a few photos from around the Okanagan Lake in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, which can easily participate in @juliank's #landscapephotography challenge.

I love the western part of Canada.....your photos are perfect.  I've never seen Kelowna or a photo like this one you shared with all the houses in neat little rows.  So colorful and positioned so everyone can have a view of the lake and mountains.

Thank you. I like it too. We had a cloudy day, and we even followed the storm. But in the end we had some sun, so we could took some pretty photos. 

About the photo, I don't know in which part of Kelowna they were taken, because everything was the first for me. I will try to ask the ones, who were with me if they know where it was...

Oh that's okay...don't worry about the exact location of those houses.  Kelowna is a small town....your photo showed me a neighborhood that is reminiscent of the east coast of Canada - the colors and the way the houses are set in rows.  

I've seen houses for sale in Kelowna on realtor.ca bc I was very interested in that part of our country.  And I didn't continue on that trail because of the hills.  Not good for my knees.

I love taking photos without the sun sometimes because the colors pop more.

Haven't stumbled across your page before but you mention Slovenia, do you come from there? Plan on visiting Slovenia this summer with my girlfriend, been top on our travel-list for a while now ;)

From the beautiful green fields, lakes, mountains, cities, and villages, to the small but lovely Slovenian coast. I recommend you to try as many traditional Slovenian food and drinks as possible. In the end, you can drive from one end of the country to the other in just a few hours. ;)

About my post, believe me, it was hard to make it short. :) I was in Canada for 11 days and I managed to see so much new and interesting, that I could even write a book about it. :) Hehe.
