There doesn't seem to be much going on in this space on the surface, but when you dig slightly deeper you'll realize just how much is being done even during a bear market. From fresh investments coming into the space to new models and concepts; Significant national interest to even victories over regulators, this bear market has been anything but boring.

This is of course in stark contrast to the opinion that is so widely publicized on the media that crypto is fading away. For years, the space has come under intense criticisms by every traditional supporter or beneficiary of the finance system and the criticisms have not let up. There has been a slight shift though from calling for the death of the space to attempts at discrediting its legitimacy and seizing control over the narrative.

Crypto continues to forge on. If there is one thing bear markets teach us it is the resiliency of the space. This particular bear is a bit unique perhaps because we witnessed something unlike before - the demise of a major crypto project in Ust Terra. A lot of people sustained heavy losses and the media rode on the unfortunate series of events to more or less term this bear season as the beginning of the end.

Yet, like I mentioned previously, one doesn't even need to look too far to see reasons for hope, In this bear market, we are still seeing Billions of dollars in investments going into crypto related companies. Global investments in cryptocurrency for the half year 2022 was valued at $14.2 Billion. The beauty about this investments is that there seems to be a shift towards infrastructural projects on the path of investors, particularly those that involve the use of blockchain in updating financial technology. This is significant because we need proper proof of value projects in place for long term sustainability. These investments are particularly highlighted by significant interest in developing regions with countries like Nigeria, Kenya and El-salvador attracting major investments. It is important to recognize this because the strong interest in these areas show just how much crypto is meeting the infrastructural needs in this region and helping out generally. Things like cross border payments, currency reserve and access to the global financial markets are made possible or much easier because of crypto. 

Then we consider other minor but significant observations. Crypto stakeholders are doubling down on their stake and putting their money where their mouth is. There are overall stronger communities than have previously ever existed and most investors have come to recognize, and accept crypto for its long term potential.
# Macro Impact
Furthermore, crypto's importance was highlighted in the Ukraine conflict as Billions in donations have been sent easily through that means. No one can discredit crypto as a payment option again and any regulator should be concerned with developing their payment infrastructure.

Then we also have some major regulatory changes as we recently heard reports of Kazakhstan considering legalizing crypto. We predicted that should El-Salvador succeed more players will enter the space. They might be considered small players, but it is significant nonetheless. 

# Conclusion 
We have a way to go, but don't let current prices fool you thinking there isn't much going on in the space. Now is the time to get involved. There is a bright future with blockchain technology.
