he entire space is barely more than a decade so the term 'veteran'  project should be conservatively used. Yet when we consider the space alone, there are certainly projects that have been there from the very beginning and you get the feeling will be there for as long as the ride continues. These projects are not necessarily special because of their longevity, but have shown their value over time. Bitcoin remains ahead of all Blockchain currencies and continues to dictate the direction of the marketplace to be followed. 


Time is the ultimate value test. With sufficient time, the frauds are exposed and we know which of the projects are headed for success or failure. Many projects are weary of the time test and seek to profit as quickly as they can, before things start to blow over. The true nature of value over time is a beautiful, interactive relationship that leaves no one in doubt which intentions are genuine and which isn't. It also applies on the individual level as well, as the investor who works with time is better trusted than those who seek out short term gains. 

We have quite a few veterans on the Hive chain that have been here since the very beginning. Some have made their exit, having either lost faith in the project or cashed out when it was convenient fire them. Even our founder is guilty of this. Luckily, Hive has never been a one man project, and doesn't quite need anyone in particular to survive. It rather needs a passionate blend of developers, investors and community to keep it running, and this can be done irrespective of which position those exiting once held. With sufficient time, any new stakeholder who comes into the space will gain the respect of the entire community having shown the qualities of dedication and consistency.


Can you boldly map out a long term plan for your Hive journey? While I am certainly here for the long haul, I've had trouble sticking with my long term goals,  especially relating to my Hive assets. Yet there are people such as cryptoandcoffee that have continued to stick with their plans over a sustained period and even map out new long term plans for their Hive journey. One thing I have noticed is that no-one who has invested on the Hive chain long term has regretted it. Instead, there are more than a handful of testimonials about how transformative the Hive chain has been for users, and how it was a door into the crypto space as a whole. 


# Conclusion 
Veteran thinking is simply thinking long term. We have quite a bit of time to decide on what our project has to offer and our ambitions for the said project. Any project that we could confidently draw out a five year plan for is likely a solid project, as time will inevitably expose the pretenders who may appear serious.
