## Hunter's comment
termtosvg is a command line application written with Python which records your terminal sessions and converts them into SVG animations.

It needs a python 3.5 or greater on your *nix setup and installable via [pypi](https://pypi.org/).

After the installation, whenever you want to record your terminal session, just type ```termtosvg```, do your thing, and CTRL-D when you want to stop the recording.

After that recording file (SVG) will be saved into a directory. You can play the animation with your favorite browser.

There are a couple of example SVG animations on /[examples folder](https://github.com/nbedos/termtosvg/tree/develop/examples) in the repository.

It's also an [open-source](https://github.com/nbedos/termtosvg) project distributed with [BSD-3 Clause "New" or "Revised"](https://github.com/nbedos/termtosvg/blob/develop/LICENSE) license.

Awesome hunt. As a commandline girl, this is the kind of tool that I've needed for years.
Pros:
- cli tutorials are so much easier to make and share, this way.
- you don't need to screenshare to see someone else's terminal
