I had a request recently to make a post about how newer people here can start progressing on Steemit. I took a look at a few people's profiles who were complaining about their progress. I am making this a generalized post. Nothing targeted at anyone specific. I made a trilogy series on this topic about 3 weeks ago. I have realized, maybe I should also make a combination post after the different parts for those readers ho just want all the info in one article!</a></center><hr>I have various opinions from other people about how I create my content. Some complain my articles are too long, and I agree if they are over-loaded with information, people won't be able to get through them! However, there are other's who like all the info in one post. So I am just going to do both! </a></center><hr>If you notice you are lacking in some of these things, then just take it with a grain of salt, and use the info as you wish.</a></center><hr>Here are the 6 points in my opinion.

A common (Also obvious) reason for people to not making any visual progression on their blogs is because no one is seeing the content. When joining any social-platform, the top priority next to quality content, is followers.</a></center><hr>Your main objective should be to gain followers that are viewing your content. So, this is definitely the first thing I noticed about all the pages I checked-out. Many of then have very few people seeing their content.</a></center><hr>Now sure there are a few people who have quite an amount of followers, but that's not the only thing you need here. Those followers need to actually enjoy your content, and engage with you. So just spamming a bunch of people is not going to help here.</a></center><hr>It's all a Law of Average. There will always be a certain percentage of your followers that react a certain way. Depending on the quality of your content, they will react accordingly. It's also a little obvious. It's no coincidence that @Sweetsssj gets so much engagement, compared to someone who posts a single picture. Just real talk.</a></center><hr>So now you understand that you need a strong following, but how do you achieve this? That extends onto the next point.

If you are going to come here and complain about not making progress, but then think the solution will come without a sacrifice, then you are mistaken. This might sound cliche', but for every positive, there is a negative. If you want to be seen, you need to politely put yourself in front of others.</a></center><hr>Note I said 'politely put yourself'. That means by not seeming too needy. You need to provide value to people. There are so many examples around us of how not to do things, so use this and do the opposite.</a></center><hr>I don't want to talk like I have 20K+ followers already, but I can safely say that I have been doing this for the past 46 days, and you can judge my results accordingly. I am quite satisfied with my current progress, but again, it's purely my perspective on how I would do things.</a></center><hr>Don't complain if you have done anything less than 1000 posts (Engagements). It also needs to be in a shorter space of time. It's all about compressing time-frames. If you do 1000 posts in a period of a month, compared to doing the same amount of posts in the span of a week, which do you think will do you better? I am confident that doing it in a shorter period of time will gather more attention!</a></center><hr>Remember, you can have the best content in the world, but if no one sees it, then it really has no value. Get yourself out there!

When I first joined here, I thought it would be cool to not follow anyone.. I don't know why I thought this, but I soon realized that it's not a very kind way of doing things.</a></center><hr>You can't just expect others to follow your content, and you remain selfish, not playing thing forward.</a></center><hr>I'm not saying you need to do 'follow for follow', because that's just doing things randomly. Nothing is targeted that way, and you don't have any real reason for following that person other than the fact that they followed your first.</a></center><hr>What I am saying is that you should definitely not be afraid of giving someone a follow who deserves one! If people are loyal to you and your content, you should always play things forward. If someone is being generous by stopping by to my content, and showing value in what they have to say, I usually give them a follow for being awesome.</a></center><hr>If they are consistently coming back, I will start taking a look at their content if I have the time. Playing things forward!</a></center><hr>I think especially when starting out here, having a stingy mentality on this platform will not play in anyone's favor. Having an open personality, looking to build real connections will bring the best results, in my opinion of course.

Sometimes I see people making quite a few blog posts per day.</a></center><hr>Everyone is open to doing whatever they want here with the way they do things. I will just talk about the reason I do things the way I do.</a></center><hr>I limit my blog posts to max 2 per day because firstly it becomes difficult for the audience to keep up with things. Secondly, I don't see it being time effective. It's a lot of effort to make a decent-quality post, and the more frequently you post, the less engagement retention you will receive. I see the logic behind this being because of the time difference between each post being less. This means since viewers are from all around the world, when they finally see your blog at a certain time of the day, they might have missed the post because a newer one would be up. Does that makes sense?</a></center><hr>I would much rather spend the time engaging in other people's content, rather than spending all that time and effort on posts that will not be making use of their full potential.</a></center><hr>Sometimes I do a post every 12-16 hours, because I have noticed that after that time-frame, 90% of the engagement has been done. So I figured by waiting until 24+ hours to make the next post, would be simply wasting time. It's just something I have been keeping an eye on, so this is just what I do.</a></center><hr>A huge thing that I would consider when posting often (3-5 times per day), for those who do, is the quality of the posts. I have noticed that many of those who post a lot, are lacking in effort put into those posts. I would much rather spend that scattered time focusing on a single thing, and boosting the quality. When new viewers come across your content, you really only get one shot to prove that you are worth their time. If the content isn't eye-catching, and of value, then they will not want to come back.

This relates a lot with all the aspects of communicating with people in the first place.</a></center><hr>Rapport is basically giving people a reason to want to come back. I believe the most effective way of doing this is by building a relationship with people you communicate with. You want each viewer to be your friend!</a></center><hr>The communication should be so strong, that if you ask any of them for a favor, they will all be willing to help without question. If you can get that right, then I am very confident you will do well! I notice many people just ignore their audience. Remember, nobody NEEDS to engage with your content. They are doing you a favor. You need to make them feel good about themselves. Otherwise, what reason have you given them to feel good about coming back next time.</a></center><hr>Keep them excited! It can be quite a difficult task to get right, but building strong rapport is essential in my opinion for a long-term success. Small, daily progresses is all it takes.

All these points can actually be used as a procedure. I would say quality content should definitely be at the top in priority.</a></center><hr>Think about it, yeah rapport is important, once you have actually communicated with your viewers. Before that, you need to get them to actually leave a response in the first place! Give them a reason to speak their mind. If the content is terrible, do you think they will want to even spend time writing a well thought-out comment? I doubt it. I know I wouldn't.</a></center><hr>Give them a reason to want to engage.</a></center><hr>When checking the quality of the things, I always find it a good idea to imagine yourself as a viewer. 'If I was a viewer, would I be impressed with what I'm seeing?'. That's what you can ask yourself. Then give yourself a genuine response. If it's a no, then improve it until you are really impressed. Ask yourself, 'Would I resteem this?'. Get what I'm saying?</a></center><hr>In the beginning, you really only have 2 main objectives:</a></center><hr>Write great content that will impress other's.
Engage with other people and bring new faces in front of your great content.
If those two steps are done correctly, you should start building an audience. Then incorporate the other points.</a></center><hr>That's exactly what I am doing. I am still very small here, but I am very confident that the strategy can take things sky-rocketing with momentum.
