Y entonces por mucho tiempo me he mantenido en ese estado que “mientras más trabaje más dinero tendré”, lo cual de alguna manera sí es cierto porque he sido recompensada muchas veces. No obstante, con tanta información que he visto me he dado cuenta de que es una creencia relacionar el éxito con el trabajo duro, pues ya lo han dicho, que si fuera así los agricultores serían millonarios.

Trabajamos duro porque creemos que así tendremos más dinero y oportunidades, lo cual es un pensamiento que ha estado desde nuestra niñez, a quien no le han dicho “Si madrugas Dios te ayuda''. Mi mamá lo hacía, me recordaba que el esfuerzo tiene su recompensa; si me esforzaba en mis estudios, tendría buenas notas y podría ir a una buena universidad. Si trabajo duro, puedo conseguir un buen empleo. Por esta razón comparto la idea que es una creencia que está muy enraizada en nuestra sociedad y, a menudo, nos lleva a sacrificar nuestro tiempo y energía por el éxito económico, pero a larga esto me ha hecho sentir como una obligación o más bien ser parte de un círculo social, cosa que en la primera oportunidad que tenga de escapar lo haría.

 

Será que por eso no he conseguido trabajo, quizás en el fondo de mi subconsciente busque hacer cosas más interesantes que medir mi felicidad en un trabajo. Debo ser sincera, hay dos luchas dentro de mí, una que si quiere trabajar duro para ir mejorando “económicamente” y otra que prefiere hacerse cargo de su supervivencia haciendo cosas que sanen mis heridas del pasado y así darle un mejor propósito a mi existencia sin tanto ruido y con un bajo perfil.

 

Entonces, como no tengo un trabajo fijo, no me queda más que pensar en lo segundo; trabajar para vivir y así tener más tiempo para lo que es importante según mi ser. Así que todo el drama del trabajo y las creencias que han sido planteadas es porque mi casa es mi lugar de trabajo. Por ello he tratado que sea un lugar que en verdad se sienta cómodo y agradable. Sin embargo, estar en casa requiere hacer un “trabajo duro” en las tareas del hogar, donde hay que dedicar tanto tiempo a la limpieza, especialmente cuando compartes ese lugar con más personas y también hay una mascota que por supuesto requiere su tiempo.

Hace unos días estuve conversando con una vecina y justamente concordamos que las tareas del hogar es un trabajo duro cuando hay poca colaboración de los demás acompañantes. Después de esa conversación me quedé pensando que muchas personas nos quejamos cuando hay que hacer limpieza, lavar los platos, organizar la ropa, cocinar y tener limpio todo. Supongo que nos pasa a muchas mujeres, casi siempre lo vemos a esto como algo hostil y que no merece tanto tiempo. Pero luego de esa conversación me sentí mal y quise que este sentimiento no se quede así. 

 

Comencé a buscar información de mujeres que han pasado por lo mismo y me encontré con un libro que ha tenido mucha connotación sobre este tema, se llama “Manual de limpieza de un monje budista” un libro en el cual habla de la limpieza, pero no para que esté limpio y se vea bonito, sino para que te encuentres a ti mismo ¿De qué me estás hablando? Hablo de barrer el polvo y las nubes del alma, así lo menciona el autor. 

 

Me parece una buena estrategia de convencimiento para los que somos creyentes en Dios. Me interesó saber más, ya que nunca lo había escuchado, así que decidí leerlo y me encontré con frases como: “Si las personas no cuidan las cosas, tampoco cuidan a las personas” “Ten cuidado en el lugar que vives porque te puedes convertir en aquello”. Vaya que profundo, me gustó mucho el contenido, aún no lo termino de leer, solo de referencia, puedo decir al día siguiente, me levanté con ganas de limpiar mi cocina, lo hice con un enfoque diferente a lo habitual, sintiendo que la suciedad que está ahí es algo que también está dentro de mí, así que al terminar me hizo sentir mejor.

No he podido continuar con estas actividades por mi problema del pie, pero he planeado iniciar de poco a poco para que este hábito se vaya consolidando y todos los días encontrar algo nuevo que limpiar e ir incentivando a las personas que conviven en casa a que se convierta en un lugar de trabajo armonizado lleno de buena energía y orden.

 

Con este enfoque que mencione las cosas cambiaron totalmente, no puedo decir que me convertí de un momento a otro, en alguien que ama limpiar y fregar pisos, a penas siento que encontré un propósito en este aspecto para dejar de hacerlo como si fuera una obligación. También llegué a la conclusión que el trabajo duro en el hogar es una creencia más que yo tenía.

And so for a long time I have been in that state that "the more I work the more money I will have", which in a way it is true because I have been rewarded many times. However, with so much information that I have seen I have realized that it is a belief to relate success to hard work, because it has already been said, that if it were so farmers would be millionaires.

We work hard because we believe we will have more money and opportunities, which is a thought that has been with us since our childhood, who hasn't been told "If you get up early God helps you''. My mom did, she reminded me that effort has its reward; if I worked hard in my studies, I would have good grades and I could go to a good university. If I work hard, I can get a good job. For this reason I share the idea that it is a belief that is deeply rooted in our society and often leads us to sacrifice our time and energy for economic success, but in the long run this has made me feel like an obligation or rather to be part of a social circle, something that at the first opportunity I have to escape I would do it.

 

Maybe that's why I haven't gotten a job, maybe deep down in my subconscious I'm looking for more interesting things to do than measuring my happiness in a job. I must be honest, there are two struggles within me, one that wants to work hard to improve "economically" and another that prefers to take care of its survival doing things that heal my past wounds and thus give a better purpose to my existence without so much noise and with a low profile.

 

So, since I don't have a steady job, I have no choice but to think about the latter; to work for a living and thus have more time for what is important to my being. So all the work drama and beliefs that have been brought up is because my home is my workplace. So I have tried to make it a place that actually feels comfortable and enjoyable. However, being at home requires doing "hard work" in housework, where you have to spend so much time cleaning, especially when you share that place with more people and there is also a pet that of course requires your time.

A few days ago I was talking with a neighbor and we agreed that housework is hard work when there is little cooperation from the other people in the house. After that conversation I was thinking that many of us complain when we have to clean, wash the dishes, organize the clothes, cook and keep everything clean. I guess it happens to many women, we almost always see this as something hostile and not worth so much time. But after that conversation I felt bad and I wanted this feeling not to stay that way. 

 

I started looking for information from women who have gone through the same thing and I came across a book that has had a lot of connotation on this topic, it is called "A Buddhist Monk's Cleaning Manual" a book in which he talks about cleaning, but not to be clean and look pretty, but to find yourself What are you talking about? I'm talking about sweeping the dust and clouds from the soul, that's what the author mentions. 

 

It seems to me a good convincing strategy for those of us who are believers in God. I was interested to know more, since I had never heard it, so I decided to read it and I found phrases like: "If people don't take care of things, they don't take care of people either" "Be careful where you live because you can become that". Wow how profound, I really liked the content, I still haven't finished reading it, just for reference, I can say the next day, I woke up feeling like cleaning my kitchen, I did it with a different approach than usual, feeling that the dirt that is there is something that is also inside me, so when I finished it made me feel better.

I have not been able to continue with these activities because of my foot problem, but I have planned to start little by little so that this habit is consolidated and every day I find something new to clean and encourage the people who live at home to become a harmonized workplace full of good energy and order.

 

With this approach I mentioned things changed completely, I can not say that I became from one moment to another, someone who loves cleaning and scrubbing floors, I just feel that I found a purpose in this aspect to stop doing it as if it were an obligation. I also came to the conclusion that hard work at home is just another belief I had.
