Hydronephrosis is a condition in which the kidney swells due to urine buildup (urine). This condition leads to kidney function becomes impaired. The causes of the occurrence of hydronephrosis include: kidney stones / urinary tract stones, prostate enlargement, pregnancy, etc. If hydronephrosis is not handled properly, kidney failure may occur.

In hydronephrosis with kidney failure, there are many foods that should be limited, not necessarily not at all. What this means includes: limiting protein, liquid, salt, and foods high in potassium and phosphate. This restriction is intended not to aggravate kidney function.

Almost all foods, whether vegetables or fruits that we encounter contain various vitamins and minerals such as potassium and phosphate. Similarly, apples, bananas, and pears are examples of fruits that also contain potassium. Potassium content is not high enough compared with bananas, potatoes.

You can still consume these fruits but should not be excessive, especially if there has been a significant decline in kidney function. Discuss with your doctor about a diet that suits you best, if necessary, consult a nutritionist.

Most importantly, limit the consumption of salt including salt that is contained in a snack on the market, and also limit the consumption of protein. Nevertheless, keep your intake of food so as not to lack of nutrients.

Maybe useful, and thank you.
