I can't help but recommend the curriculum for newbies on steemit.com
This set of courses called Steemit 2.0 video courses which created by @joeparys.
Of course, I am a noobie on steemit, too. So I can feel the pain of struggling in dilemmas of knowing nothing to do when a novice who face a brand new world of steemit.com. 

Blockchain and cryptocurrency both are fire-new to us, how to do when we first meet steemit? Which things can we do on it? Which aspects can we start to do something? These questions often bother us. The curriculum can answer most of these issues, and you can submit questions under @joeparys' post, too. And he's quite willing to answer our questions.

The curriculum is with subtitle on the screen. It is another reason that I recommend newbies to watch/learn this curriculum, especially those people whose mother tongue is not English, we can not only learn new knowledge/skills, but also learn English. To kill two birds with one stone.
