Hello friends, today I want you to join me for a flash walk to the Cueva del Guácharo in the Alejandro Humboldt National Park located between Sucre State and Monagas State, Venezuela. This national park was declared a national park on May 27, 1975, the first natural monument declared in Venezuela.

We left Maturín at approximately seven in the morning and met up with some friends who would accompany us on this almost three-hour motorcycle ride. The day was sunny ☀️ and the sky was clear, ideal for the ride we wanted to do, the flowering trees on the side of the road were blooming in different shades of pink.

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmbzH9raeySZ1BLDKEwB8z6BPktWvx7yV43SgA5X6fAUic/img_0.11812930277655133.jpg)

As we drove away from Maturin, we began to notice the mountain ranges, which did not indicate that we were close to our destination, no doubt we stopped to rest and admire the scenery and then we took a foto☺️.

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmb9psCzPtzkfbL6EcytEBt539iJCYaRXf1RzJ5jawxEXS/img_0.4779868067227241.jpg)

Further ahead we found one of the largest towns that are on the road to Caripe el Guácharo, and is the town of Guanaguana, is a town of very friendly people, the climate here is very cool, when I was studying at the university I had a classmate who was from this town, something that characterizes this town is this stone church that is very old.

We move forward and observing this lagoon in the distance tells us that we are already close to Caripe, because right in that lagoon there are two roads, one leads to San Antonio - Cumana and the other leads us to our destination, the Cueva del Guacharo.

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRZLcdM4KUAXeaGC2LAKCn4nE2DCUZukyGqAgugST97nU/img_0.014502865912034204.jpg)

Here we are entering the town of Caripe, the air that hits us in the face is super fresh, something they call this town the garden of eastern Venezuela, the freshness is simply divine.

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZuqZ7RjAuddH4wpoVKo3Jz5iRTaVKTh79tMv6EDVJYj8/img_0.8254489606346401.jpg)

At the entrance of the Alejandro Humboldt National Park is this arch that welcomes visitors.

And so we arrive at the imposing Cueva del Guácharo, if you approach the entrance you can hear the sound that the guacharos make inside the cave, because they are nocturnal birds, meaning that they leave the cave only at night in search of food and the rest of the day they are inside the cave making nests or just being there.

Guided tours inside the cave are available to a certain extent for visitors, to make the tour the imparque facilities have boots that you can use if you do not want to dirty your shoes and the guide who will accompany you at all times. Inside the cave you can not take pictures or make noise so as not to disturb the bird habitat, the flashlights allowed are carried by the guides, this is a tour that I recommend you to do, I have already done it several times.

The square around the cave is very clean and the gardens are very well kept, they also have a museum in the facilities where they show how the guachararos are, their nests, eggs and everything about them, unfortunately we went on a day when it was closed to the public.

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQma2U7KZ9XVqF9Kmao7YMzgMLNaSAbStqo4kMC8rWezYQ9/img_0.9785197740474937.jpg)

Another thing that caught my attention is this model of a cross section of the cave, where you can see the route that the cave has inside, and after having done the tour, looking at this model clarifies a lot of the places where you were, because inside the cave everything is very dark and many times you have to be careful not to fall hehehehe.

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdYBT6c5NfBrQeoBfxXSuHwRuw8qeW5gsKLLxJLSdufju/img_0.32846155888345946.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmbzH9raeySZ1BLDKEwB8z6BPktWvx7yV43SgA5X6fAUic/img_0.11812930277655133.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmb9psCzPtzkfbL6EcytEBt539iJCYaRXf1RzJ5jawxEXS/img_0.4779868067227241.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmQWw8jUCu4wR2hxu5WPSyddvhqWGb3nbrfASWJ3Rzg7nE/img_0.0727028816464969.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRZLcdM4KUAXeaGC2LAKCn4nE2DCUZukyGqAgugST97nU/img_0.014502865912034204.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZuqZ7RjAuddH4wpoVKo3Jz5iRTaVKTh79tMv6EDVJYj8/img_0.8254489606346401.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmd2F7cmsVsWMXfkjscaeX9mnqAhR2B3v8T4cten37LBZZ/img_0.8908310915060939.jpg)

![](https://images.ecency.com/DQma2U7KZ9XVqF9Kmao7YMzgMLNaSAbStqo4kMC8rWezYQ9/img_0.9785197740474937.jpg)

The day was sunny ☀️ and the sky was clear, ideal for the ride we wanted to do, the flowering trees on the side of the road were blooming in different shades of pink.\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmbzH9raeySZ1BLDKEwB8z6BPktWvx7yV43SgA5X6fAUic/img_0.11812930277655133.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmcwmEiz9YvMhBHq6eDBKoKdTWCB1qo5QMMCvpySeizYxK/img_0.13292713951572302.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nAs we drove away from Maturin, we began to notice the mountain ranges, which did not indicate that we were close to our destination, no doubt we stopped to rest and admire the scenery and then we took a foto☺️. \r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmb9psCzPtzkfbL6EcytEBt539iJCYaRXf1RzJ5jawxEXS/img_0.4779868067227241.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmUE8U9ABxdjrYmJXenPRFr1UnhNMmpHauE9miypqaThA2/img_0.3700322353472996.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmNfFKoMCRaXcq1NjadJ2btNBS3xoKLkWSq1CexG6esAjY/img_0.5604795226195047.jpg)\r\n\r\nFurther ahead we found one of the largest towns that are on the road to Caripe el Guácharo, and is the town of Guanaguana, is a town of very friendly people, the climate here is very cool, when I was studying at the university I had a classmate who was from this town, something that characterizes this town is this stone church that is very old.\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmQWw8jUCu4wR2hxu5WPSyddvhqWGb3nbrfASWJ3Rzg7nE/img_0.0727028816464969.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdMFB48DyquqpJ7XcArAUnosJ4azgZHKPMvHqCtr2kAjz/img_0.7528817081110298.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmYadMkq4EhrXnP7mcFATebo9vGQn9WT35RFCTV3726NV7/img_0.7575666643430231.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nWe move forward and observing this lagoon in the distance tells us that we are already close to Caripe, because right in that lagoon there are two roads, one leads to San Antonio - Cumana and the other leads us to our destination, the Cueva del Guacharo.\r\n\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRZLcdM4KUAXeaGC2LAKCn4nE2DCUZukyGqAgugST97nU/img_0.014502865912034204.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmWytf7XhpSWRxQjLyUBC7dqdPkT2dCyWZ33Cwup8fXv8H/img_0.7526955363869638.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nHere we are entering the town of Caripe, the air that hits us in the face is super fresh, something they call this town the garden of eastern Venezuela, the freshness is simply divine. \r\n\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZuqZ7RjAuddH4wpoVKo3Jz5iRTaVKTh79tMv6EDVJYj8/img_0.8254489606346401.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmSfe2hT1yU2dJJFbpCVrVHAB6A6JuT9RMZWdip5VGdVa5/img_0.9104756602770265.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nAt the entrance of the Alejandro Humboldt National Park is this arch that welcomes visitors.\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmd2F7cmsVsWMXfkjscaeX9mnqAhR2B3v8T4cten37LBZZ/img_0.8908310915060939.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmeadtDZG2dKQfMuFbeCiJvhcKk3aQety4nraiXWm4Ge1c/img_0.6709629924853086.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmf24KNyoempEQyVdTQEcCr35vNCavPztsYeivbJfKVJUY/img_0.8294872580588537.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmeaVtCZWdaMRR7CJmrZjNG9KQUDJhDKjPQAr1qoVaH2sV/img_0.6088099433469409.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nAnd so we arrive at the imposing Cueva del Guácharo, if you approach the entrance you can hear the sound that the guacharos make inside the cave, because they are nocturnal birds, meaning that they leave the cave only at night in search of food and the rest of the day they are inside the cave making nests or just being there. \r\n\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdYBT6c5NfBrQeoBfxXSuHwRuw8qeW5gsKLLxJLSdufju/img_0.32846155888345946.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZZa8D5GfeyLDaVJFDsjPeYq5QQ8wXfprzyhonpi75okS/img_0.67032945562661.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPzTktFDJQ94Gd58QV2a88rMsCt7uqo3o7wxwpsvdsosn/img_0.24109888114826755.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmY7yx8Fdrcchhrqswu14q5DGfWr7jgnKWsk5fGuDyQUDq/img_0.660653191807404.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmTUgymwy2WuVXXKL7xv2YknXFCFPVMLNYSspUpaUAq4vZ/img_0.06719050375494127.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmbgL9bpm3mPhzR3TEa6qweytqpuQntvXbYQR2LC4NQvEg/img_0.09180191560738882.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nGuided tours inside the cave are available to a certain extent for visitors, to make the tour the imparque facilities have boots that you can use if you do not want to dirty your shoes and the guide who will accompany you at all times. Inside the cave you can not take pictures or make noise so as not to disturb the bird habitat, the flashlights allowed are carried by the guides, this is a tour that I recommend you to do, I have already done it several times. \r\n\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmQDkS8RUkhSwfmrQEv82U1r86LZkEwb15irhvaJRqKsSk/img_0.951453600638425.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZmb9hnaMxpQ6v3SaBokDaBriFbaeeKtRsdM25Wm5ZZPG/img_0.17745603433421947.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmaCvkpGfAcgTeQ1dviz4AzoQWyqj8fGYPxt8zodEGr9Az/img_0.3340784080100487.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPD6H6QPoyw4vjL7Pj5nhhoMjYr5hLJ2nzt9DT4XiVfjo/img_0.8798384806357562.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmT7sd51huDDxBBSZEEt1M3Ae3Tcu7SKK8DJ4fqga4nwR5/img_0.0517761544969118.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmfBiF286VVnH59WSASFNq7Ne8imegFhzTYjqxXT1CfSXy/img_0.28182624918020555.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nThe square around the cave is very clean and the gardens are very well kept, they also have a museum in the facilities where they show how the guachararos are, their nests, eggs and everything about them, unfortunately we went on a day when it was closed to the public. \r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQma2U7KZ9XVqF9Kmao7YMzgMLNaSAbStqo4kMC8rWezYQ9/img_0.9785197740474937.jpg)\r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmTPgMhYFDUN77hRjG7vK2G7qDK3wgCKRNo8qgRp6kPXTb/img_0.5615485827495024.jpg)\r\n\r\n\r\nAnother thing that caught my attention is this model of a cross section of the cave, where you can see the route that the cave has inside, and after having done the tour, looking at this model clarifies a lot of the places where you were, because inside the cave everything is very dark and many times you have to be careful not to fall hehehehe. \r\n\r\n![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmamVeCDUMNy9WztLwctoy9XW2m2Z8YgGCYTkRUegBEF2S/img_0.30763582759584823.jpg)\r\n\r\nThanks for reading and supporting me, see you in a next destination ❤️\r\n\r\n***\r\n***\r\n\r\n##### All images and videos are my property 📷 / Taken with my little X3 pro phone / Edited with inshot. \r\n\r\n***\r\n***\r\n\r\n\r\n[//]:# (!pinmapple 10.16968 lat -63.55330 long Cueva el Guácharo d3scr)","tags":["threespeak","nature","cueva","pimp","photography","travel","posh","venezuela","travelfeed","ocd"]}}}"
