## 4/30/2018 - BP Random pool Group #1 update:
This week we have started to talk together some more, with a view to creating a more coherent group, perhaps with some kind of leadership. So far EOS UK(having got their first Meetup under their belt), EOS 42, and EOS Vibes are making efforts to speak in person with a view to this.
EOS 42 appear to be leading the way with regards research on DDoS prevention and traffic scrubbing methodologies, even whilst preparing for their next meetup on 1st May.
We have all been working on the Jungle Testnet problems and getting to grips with moving nodes between VMs and physical hosts, automating the build processes with scripts and understanding versioning and syncing requirements. The Jungle Testnet now has 80 nodes, which has presented its own unique challenges this week.
There has been some interesting work published by EOS Canada on automating the bios bootup which the group are exciting about evaluating and replicating the results of.
WinLin of EOSBIXIN and Basit Raza of EOSVibes are working on generating the snapshot and Genesis.
Obviously the biggest excitement of the week has been the inclusion of Bitfinex to Group1! We have also welcomed EOS New Zealand, HelloEOS, UnlimitedEOS - who have created a hassle free testnet joining process, EOS The World of Puerto Rico and many more who we look forward to getting to know personally in the days and weeks ahead.
The main tasks for next week and every week until launch still remain
Key exchange ceremony rehearsal
Generating the Ethereum Blockchain snapshot
Validating the snapshot
Testing DDoS
VPN connections for Bios bootup
Bios Bootup rehearsal
How to unlock voting and what will that look like
How BP’s “talk amongst themselves and decide the EBPs for the next round”
BPs have voiced concern over the requirement to provide information v’s the need to actually deliver a working technical solution by 3rd June and the pressure is mounting!
