--- When I just started with steemit, I came across a lot of *I bought this thanks to steemit.com* I payed my bills thanks to steemit.com* and you know, that's cool. The fact that people are able to buy things or pay bills just by blogging and by being rewarded money that's 'generated' by doing so. Now me? I've been using the same phone for the last 5 years. And I have just now FINALLY bought a new one. But I did *NOT* buy it with steem. Every steem I earned I powered up. See, I believe in this platform and the engine behind it and I think powering up is the best way to invest steem. So I just renewed my monthly subscription and am paying my new phone through that, keeping my steem invested in the platform. I do keep some liquid steem (less then 10%) for reasons. Mostly something I want to try out something where I buy steem at a low (did that already), sell at a high and then rebuy at a low. I am full well aware of the risk that when I sell it at my set high it might not ever dip back down again. That's why I'm doing it with a small amount. Just to try it. For kicks so to speak. Anyways, long story short, I keep my earned steem over the past months invested in the platform. With all the development and SMTs and things going on, there's only one place I see this going. Upwards and over the Moon. Let's GO ! --- Full STEEM ahead my fellow Steemians - @eqko

Purchasing things with the money you earn on steemit doesn't mean one doesn't believe in the platform. Powering everything down is stupid, but buying things with some of your earnings simply helps show the value and strength in the currency. Having said that.... I'm proud of your growth on here @eqko. You are a very talented artist and bring true value to the platform. I'm honored to call you my friend.

Ah no I never meant it like that. Itβs actually great to see that itβs possible to pay things because of steemit. Iβm sure that those who do, believe in the platform exactly *because* of that. There are all sorts of reasons people may need to blow some steem. Thanks for the kind words man. Proud to call you the same.
