The Fragile Now (An Original Poem)

<center> A clarion call,
sharp and bright,
speaks to the moment—
the fragile now, 
just before our future solidifies,
when choice tilts the scales,
when one feeds the wolves. </center>

<center> I watch your mind move,
the subtlest dance behind your eyes,
fingers tracing unseen maps,
roads bending toward 
some unknown end. </center>

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. We just book ahead.  The reservation system in Michigan for the state parks opens six months before the weekend you want to camp, so for the next couple of months I will be firming up our camping plans for the summer.

I saw the image of the fire and read your poem and remembered that when we feel attachment, we must tell it to the fire because it is the master in transmuting states. Yesterday's future is today's present. Without realizing it, we are at the exact moment in which we can change history. At this moment we are the ones in charge of deciding and sometimes deciding is difficult because the wolves that will howl at us will depend on our decisions. I embrace you, my friend

That is all so true! I was thinking of the [old Cherokee story](https://energyyoga.com/inspirational-parables/the-story-of-two-wolves/) when I wrote this one. Dang! Which one indeed? I love that last line. We have the power to choose our futures. We can choose the one solidified, imprisoned future, or the freedom to choose among many futures. Which whispers do you hear in the flames? Can you hear the clarion call at all?
