I'm not a fan of giving devices to kids at an early age, to shut them up. It has to happen at some point as we live in a digital era and they need to learn how to use different devices, but at the right age and for the right reason. Giving devices to kids at an early age, to shut them up takes away from them the joy of learning how to play a game outside, how to interact with other kids and how to solve different problems when you don't have parents around. There are so many skills to be learnt outside, that can help them as adults, not to mention the nice memories.

I agree with you completely, and not just because I'm an outdoorsy sort of guy but because I believe that devices can be limiting to a kids progression and learning. I know there's people that will disagree with me and that's ok.
